My daughter (3) was fascinated by this and I liked how it was an early introduction to the work of Matisse. Tim’s first book, Our Big Blue Sofa, was published by Macmillan in 2006 and he has gone on to publish a number of successful picture books including Tip Tap went the Crab and WOW said the Owl. Tim Hopgood is an award-winning illustrator and author of books for children including the international best-seller What a Wonderful World, the hugely successful Wow! It may inspire your child to find out about snails, be creative themselves and perhaps find out about the artist Matisse (particularly his famous snail collage).
