About this deal

Cucumbers do very well in raised beds, but they do need a depth of around 18” to grow properly. Give them a spot in full sun and protect them from frost in the winter months. Growing them on stakes or a trellis like the image above will give you more space beneath. If you’ve not got a huge garden, creating curved beds can help give the illusion of more space. Go the extra mile as in the image above and opt for a two-tiered curved garden bed. That’s almost double the planting space! Calculate the amount of soil you will need (cubic feet/yards) using the dimensions of your raised garden bed. Keep in mind that the number should include the soil mixed in with compost. Your soil mixture should be 60% topsoil, 30% compost, and 10% potting soil. As soil can be quite expensive, we suggest you try the Hugelkultur method if you want to save money. Once you have obtained the soil, fill it near the top. The exact amount is determined by the type of plants you will be growing and personal preference. Make sure to refrain from tilling the soil as this can dry it out. Corrugated metal is one of the most popular choices for raised beds thanks to its industrial look and durability. It’s important the metal used is galvanised so it doesn’t rust. For style and durability, go for a combination of corrugated metal and wood like the image above.

For the corner bed, I didn’t actually build an entire other bed; instead, I used 2 boards, cut each in half, created the corner, and screwed it to the other two beds to form an L. They didn't include paper instructions weirdly using Covid 19 as an excuse not to do so. I had to print mine out and ran out of ink in my printer while doing so. Very inconvenient at the weekend. Vego Garden metal raised beds are made from a Zinc, Magnesium, and Aluminum coated steel. We have combined this metal with our award-winning AkzoNobel paint to develop a new material which we call VZ 2.0. The first material of its kind, VZ 2.0’s exceptional performance has been verified at the Texas A&M National Corrosion & Materials Reliability Lab. Durable and long-lasting, it provides superior performance and corrosion resistance under different environmental conditions. Divide different sections of your garden such as the patio and lawn by using raised beds. Creating zones in your garden can make the space appear bigger, while also screening certain areas from overlooking neighbours. These L-shaped raised beds fit perfectly in the corner of a yard, or arranged in pairs to enclose an area of your garden. You can grow anything from vegetables and herbs to flowering vines.L-shaped raised beds can be paired with our rectangle raised beds to create endless garden designs and large, productive vegetable gardens. Features & Benefits:One of the most popular choices of raised bed materials, timber has a long lifespan, attractive appearance and it’s very affordable. Beds made from timber should warm faster in the spring, meaning you can start planting earlier. We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen. Made in the USA from cedar, a durable and naturally rot-resistant wood, these raised beds are sturdy and easy to assemble .Their open bottoms allow roots to grow into the soil beneath to access nutrients and important soil biology. If you’re wanting to grow less hardy plants or those that prefer warmer temperatures, a garden greenhouse is one of the best investments you can make. Walk-in greenhouses are great if you’ve got a lot of space, but mini greenhouses with just a couple of shelves will extend your growing season without taking over your garden. Made from the highest quality, pressure-treated timber, WoodBlocX raised bed kits are built to last 15+ years when our simple installation guidelines are followed. Structures larger than 1.5m and above 25cm in height have supporting buttresses/braces on the inside to stop bowing.

The advantages of using our sustainable, high-quality wood is its lasting durability and timeless elegant style. Guaranteed to last up to 15 years without rotting or distortion when installed following our custom guidelines means you get to enjoy years of growing your own food or even an Eden paradise featuring a Koi fish pond and beautiful planter garden bench.Incredibly High-Strength: The surface of Aluzinc is twice as hard as regular galvanized steel, and more than 5x harder than wood or plastic. With high wear resistance, Vego raised beds hold soil for decades without deforming. Raised bed planters are made from naturally durable cedarprotected by a non-toxic waterproof sealant that is safe for edible gardens. Raised beds can be built in custom shapes and sizes. Please let us know if you need help designing a garden. More 2×4 posts (I used mostly scraps last time, and the 2x4s simply needed a few more to make for better reinforcement spacing along the bed) Allowing for more efficient maintenance than a longer, rectangular bed, U-shaped beds give you access to all areas of the bed from one spot. U-shaped beds can be a lot larger than rectangular beds while providing the same easy maintenance. Integrating a bench seat will give you a cosy and contained area to relax. Width- Raised beds around 3 to 4 feet wide provide the most growing space while still allowing access to the center of the bed. Narrower raised beds, 1.5 to 2 feet wide, are useful for along fences and the sides of houses, or wherever access is limited to one side.

Ready for some sneak peeks of things? As I mentioned, this new garden has been in place for a couple of months now, and nearly everything around the bed has been changing. So, that means from just about every photographic angle, there are some crazy updates going on right next to this that I haven’t shared fully yet. I have been using the raised garden beds for several weeks now and have been very happy with their performance. They are sturdy, spacious, and have exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend these garden beds to others looking for a durable and eco-friendly option for their gardening needs. A decent if expensive product is scuppered by poor instructions making construction laborious. Poor delivery service by their partners.Note: If you don’t wish to buy materials yourself and prefer a kit, this one is similar (but obviously, you’ll spend a little more for the convenience of having it ready-to-assemble… I still think it’s pretty affordable for the garden space it creates.)
