I really wasn't sure what to expect from this new-to-me author, but I'll admit that I'm a softie for a manhoe who is smacked upside the head the moment he meets the right girl - and that is exactly what this story is all about. If that’s what it was, then that needs to be explained, because my brain cannot picture a way that “holding her down by the throat” isn’t the beginning of a horror snuff book. I loved how he was so patient with her and gave her space and time before she was ready to enter a relationship with him.

What happens when you take a couple of horny, single hotties, and force them to live in the same apartment building? Now there's a new man in my life, one who isn't afraid to go after what he wants, and what he wants.And as the connection between them grows, Garrett and Jennie decide to have some fun, no strings attached. He does things like this throughout the book and it's honestly adorable and hilarious simultaneously. Too bad for him, Olivia is hellbent on keeping him at arm’s length, with no intention of giving into his charms.

He inches closer and closer until he’s leaning halfway over my body, gripping my hand so tight it hurts. I’ll hide this under a spoiler tag as it discusses – albeit vaguely – things very late in the book so it might be mildly spoilerish. Not falling for those lush green eyes, that wicked tongue, the delicious curve and dip of all his glorious muscles .It soothes him in a way I can’t explain, though I understand, because I see the ways his shoulders relax, the crease in his forehead smoothing out. This was a pretty angsty romance filled with plenty of drama (including OW drama) and it honestly could’ve been shorter but I had a lot of fun reading it! He’s had everything served to him on a silver platter, including endless strings of women, and apparently, I’m up next. I mean, I get liking the chase, I also get feeling very attracted to someone but for this absolute fascination to count as believable, I need more. If I have to read another book that has ADULTS (this is not a YA, teen, New Age/college age book) saying things like “Amazeballs” “Bestie” and/or “Catching Feelings”, I’m going to stop reading books altogether.

These books seem insanely similar based on the BookTok videos I’ve seen: Hockey romance, smutty but funny, found family, enemies to lovers, she’s the grumpy one, etc. Unravel Me contains emotional references to the past death of parents and its surrounding grief, as well as brief discussions of foster care, depictions of child neglect, and the death of an animal (minimal descriptions and as it pertains to the FMC’s training as a veterinarian student; not main character’s pet).

Eliza: Yes, that’s a big difference between Canada and the US and you have a good point about the authors. He's arrogant, self-centered, and the man doesn't seem to know what a filter is, let alone how to use one.
