About this deal

The two most popular drinks in a bartender’s arsenal, vodka and gin are often used interchangeably. They’re both “neutral spirits”, which means that they’re produced from fermenting and distilling natural products, like wheat, barley, or even potatoes. While both spirits begin life in roughly the same way, gin has extra botanicals — namely juniper berries — added to it, which gives it its unique flavour. What is vodka?

This lets drinkers appreciate the complex notes of gin, along with the best complementary flavours. The alcohol levels in a spirit are measured by how much ethanol is present at the time of bottling. This is what’s known as the alcoholic proof. The ABV of a spirit is simply half the proof—so a bottle of 80 proof alcohol will have an ABV of 40%. These rules are generally similar around the world. There are different types of gin available on the market, with their characteristics primarily depending on how they’re produced. London Dry GinVodka is typically served ice cold, while gin can be served chilled or at room temperature. Chilled vodka is more viscous, offering a much better mouthfeel which, in turn, provides a more pleasant drinking experience. However, thanks to the complex flavours found in gin, it can be enjoyed at any temperature. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta speaking to Sky Sports: "A week ago I was standing here feeling proud and today we have to apologise for the performance in the second halt. It was not acceptable.

Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi speaking to Match of the Day: "We spent four or five days feeling terrible [after the Everton defeat]. Now I'm very happy because we showed the quality of play, the character, the patience. We are working on our mentality to adapt to play a lot of games in a few days.Mathematically, it's still possible, but today it's impossible to think about it. We need to digest the result and the performance in the second half, understand why and have a different reaction. Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm pleased for the performance. It was a tough game and today was more difficult because on Monday we lost an incredible game.

We are working to become a big team. We are not a big team yet but if you want to compete with a big team like Arsenal and qualify for Europe, we have to progress our mentality. Vodka is typically noted as being tasteless and odourless, however, this depends on the ABV and the region in which it was produced. I think we deserved to win because we played with courage to win the game, not just to spend a day in London. Arsenal are still a big, big team but I think we deserved to win because we played better. Brighton were really good when we became really poor. Before that it was the game we expected. The first half we knew that, the way they play, they make the game compeitive. It was difficult to get a long sequence of play. We conceded when they were direct in behind and the second one we gave away was a silly one. Then the team had no answers. It's not enough to qualify for the Europa League. We have four games [left to play] and they're all tough games. We have 58 points and that's not enough. We have to win other games and the first game will be in Newcastle [on Thursday]. We know it will be difficult but to qualify for Europe we have to push for another 15 days.

How many units are in a shot?

Allegedly, the Navy demanded spirits that were 100% proof, to guarantee that the powder would still burn in the event that the spirit accidentally leaked into the gunpowder barrels. This means it would be 57.1% ABV by today's standards, so any gin that’s marketed as Navy Strength means it’s at least 57% ABV. This Officially Licensed Arsenal FC merchandise is an ideal vodka gift set or the perfect addition to your own football memorabilia.Popular examples of gin liqueurs include sloe gin, rhubarb and ginger, and violet gin. The differences between vodka and gin Gin liqueurs are different from spirits as they’re less alcoholic and sweeter. They’re made by infusing distilled gin with fruits or herbs and then sweetening. This gives them an ABV of less than the 37.5% needed to be classed as a gin, which makes them a gin-based liqueur. Both vodka and gin are considered key ingredients in a martini, with drinkers often having a preferred base spirit between the two. However, contrary to what James Bond says, a classic martini is actually made with gin, and should be stirred, not shaken.
