About this deal

A woody ambery combining three ingredients and three accords to boost your powers of seduction and awaken the ideal lover within you. As this is a EDP variation it’s a lot quieter off my skin than the EDT which I own and projects very well. It sits close to the skin with little sillage, maybe it would be a different story if I had sprayed more. Vanilla and tonka bean are so light, as much as needed for a male perfume to warm it and empower the 'cherry' note.

L'Homme Idéal Eau de Parfum embodies the ideal man, a reflection of the highest luxury and a grand style. In a few words, spices, incense, green herbs, the right sweet (not gourmandise at all) touch, sandalwood, maybe leather is missing or it's very soft. This fragrance still rocks, 2 sprays of 2022 batch last me all day and no need to add more, otherwise it will cause nausea! That's a bummer because the original had a rich, nuanced, multifaceted scent profile that changed a lot over the course of a day but the version I have does not have the richness or depth that I remember. The third flanker, announced as more intense, more sensual and mysterious, L'Homme Idéal Eau de Parfum, comes out in April 2016. They can just put on a fragrance and go stand by a fire and will get better longevity and projection.

I've found, however, that L'Homme Ideal EDT does not last more than about an hour before becoming completely a skin scent, which is a big disappointment for something as expensive as this. Guerlain l'Homme Idéal EDP starts off as a masterpiece, but as it dries down becomes like 50% incense and not the nice kind of incense that is in Byredo Gypsy Water or even the one in Acqua di Giò Profumo. The insence is what makes it so easy to wear because it takes the edge of the sweetness and blendes beautifully with the Guerlain-vanilla. This is what you come to expect from Guerlain, truly revolutionary, over refined perfume, all the while being effortless and elegant serving as a testament to their historic, regal perfuming past and excellence. L'Homme Idéal EdT does remind me of certain fragrances like Armani's Code Profumo, Mugler's Pure Havane, Azzaro Pour Homme Intense and SpiceBomb, but without being similar to none.In fact, it reminds me of what I remember Irish Spring soap to smell like -- but I may be completely wrong about this because I haven't smelled Irish Spring soap in so many years. Don't get me wrong - this is a sweet scent; and it could not be otherwise with the almond+tonka combo.

It's like a tuxedo fragrance for me, can't wear it all the time, but it always blows me away the few times I do. Would defo recommend for younger guys like myself, if they want to stand out and have a unique scent, but the sweet vanilla scent is probably not the best fit for a skinfade and a tracksuit. Smells like Dior Homme Intense if the lipstick-y iris note is replaced with a very vibrant baked cherry that lasts throughout. I finally bought a bottle after constantly going back to the boutique and testing all of the L'homme Ideal line. I wish I had got the bottle with the matte black finish on the sides but regardless of that the scent is really nice.I honestly think you can pull this off in any weather and any time of the day as long as it’s the right setting.
