I’ve got nothing against it (though all those endless YouTube videos don’t help…) it’s just something that I think is a little outside of my age bracket. I love seeing Hot Wheels giving an older series some new attention, though I feel like this is one that might get lost in the maw.

It’s all pretty self-explanatory really: Hot Wheels upped the Minecraft Character Car by one and did so with the Ocelot. Styled track set resembles the video game, so kids can recreate a battle with The Wither in an exciting and atmospheric setting true to Minecraft™.

I know that my blog might be light on infrastructure at the moment, but that’s only because I’m putting as much time as I can into the entries that comprise it. Alright alright, new might be stretching it a bit a this point, but it does stand out as a rather random addition to the Character Car pantheon. Then there’s the design process; unique designs are drawn up for each character and then are never used again, thereby preserving the character’s “uniqueness. So it’s sort of like a lowrider vehicle that you would expect to be wandering around, just kind of cruising around.

I get no pleasure in saying this – this is an impressive set and I love zombies (yeah that’s right, I liked zombies before zombies were popular…I had like 8 zombie movies on DVD back in ’03 and that shit was pretty remarkable) – but this car is the most lackluster and most foreign of the set. I don’t know a damn thing about these “Creepers,” but my kid informs me that they explode, which brings us to the most obvious detail on the vehicle: a little cube of TNT “hidden” just under the hood. It also seems to be based on a station wagon which is pretty much the epitome of mundanity and painfully ordinary. I just love how the whole look comes together – black, purple, kinda shady, kinda gangsta…does it scream “Enderman” to me…?
