About this deal

While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. Houseplants that need high humidity are best grown in a steamy bathroom, misted regularly or the pot placed in a saucer of damp pebbles. Using Winter citrus feed is important during Winter months to help maintain steady growth during colder and darker days. Applied monthly between October and March, Citrus Winter Soluble Feed has a balanced formula which will keep leaves green and healthy without promoting unwanted, sappy growth during the colder months. Citrus are essentially outdoor plants that need to be protected from frost in winter, when they should be kept at a temperature of 8-15°C (45-60°F).

Nearly hardy Lemon trees, Chinottos and Kaffir limes will be fine in temperatures right down to zero and will even tolerate -1C or -2C for short periods.

Our smaller items are carefully packed in boxes with appropriate wrapping where necessary and clearly labelled. Overwatering in winter is one of the commonest causes of stress in citrus, so keep them on the dry side. We recommend using Winter Citrus feed during the colder months to ensure your Citrus trees grow and maintain a strong crop of fruit and protect foliage. Please remember that all plants are living things and even those of the same variety will differ slightly in size, shape and appearance. Pot on into progressively larger pots in late winter, as necessary, gradually changing to John Innes No 1 then John Innes No 2, unless multi-purpose composts are used.

This is to verify the details you provided at the checkout match the records that your bank or credit card provider holds. Because of this, you may choose to keep your lemon trees out a little longer than usual but do make sure their roots have a chance to dry out between downpours. Citrus trees can produce fragrant blossom year-round so it’s important they get a steady supply of nutrients, even in the winter. For best results, leave water to stand in a safe place until it reaches room temperature before adding Citrus fertiliser and feeding your tree. Try a slice of lemon in hot water for a healthy alternative to tea or coffee or try using sour Oranges and Kumquats in place of Lemons in your favourite recipes. You can wrap the pot with hessian or fleece to extend the season outdoors and/or bring it close to the wall of your house to give your tree a bit of extra protection. It works as a specialist winter Citrus feed, providing all your Citrus plants a balanced nutritional feed over the colder months.
