About this deal

I also love handing this camera over to couples and passing it around to the bridal party at weddings. Everyone has a ton of fun with it, and they take photos that they would never let me take — even after a couple beers.

A fantastic gift for a new film photographer to learn the basics of analogue photography, composition and exposure. Attach a weighted film clip to the bottom end of the film with a developing tray under it for drips. Leave it to dry in a still, dust-free atmosphere. Drying can be speeded up by using a hair-dryer on a low setting, kept moving and about 30cm/1ft away from the shiny side of the film. Finishing up There are better disposable cameras out there, but unless you want to shell out quite a bit more money for modest improvements that may ultimately make no difference at all, the Agfa Le Box 400 is the way to go. Best Disposable Camera for a Unique Look: Lomography Lomochrome Purple Simple UseTaking film photographs can be a long, and daunting process for many users. Pull out your light meter, change the settings, compose, manually focus, then take the shot. But this one is so simple. Point, shoot, profit The HARMAN EZ-35 is a 35mm reusable film camera with motorized load, frame advance and rewind functionality making it the ideal camera for anyone starting out in film photography or those looking for a simple point and shoot option to capture their world. This camera is not able to make double exposures via a setting. Instead, you’ll have to set them up manually. The Harman 35mm camera is a new reusable film camera developed by the wonderful Harman folk (who also look after the Ilford and Kentmere brands in the UK)

Monochrome-wise, the E-M10 Mark IV offers in-camera Monochrome picture modes, with the option to add colour tints as though you were using a physical filter. For images with a bit more pop, you can also use Olympus’s digital Art Filter modes in monochrome. Give images a bit more punch with the Dramatic Tone Art Filter, or add a bit of grain for a filmic effect – it’s all there to play with. Developers come in powder concentrate and liquid concentrate form. For beginners, the ILFORD SIMPLICTY Photo Chemicals are a great choice as they are pre-measured but if you want to process more than just a couple of films we recommend a liquid concentrate developers such as ILFOTEC DD-X. Note: Liquid chemicals are easier to prepare and use.

At a Glance

If 28mm is too wide for you, then consider also the Ricoh GR IIIx. It’s essentially an identical camera that has a 40mm equivalent lens. You can read our full, in-depth review to learn more about it. The Harman reusable can make good exposures at night with the flash. Because the camera doesn’t allow you to control the exposure settings, shooting at night without flash is nearly impossible. With the flash, you can expose people and objects between 1-2 meters away. Any object closer than 1 meter will be overexposed and out of focus. But anything further than 2 meters will be underexposed. Unwind the film out of the grooves of the spiral and remove any excess water by carefully running squeegee tongs or a clean piece of chamois cloth down the length of the film. (Take care as any grit caught up here will scratch the whole film).

An awkward attempt at double exposure. This was done by accidentally re-running the same roll through the Harman Reusable Camera. One thing to be aware of is that the GR III has no viewfinder, and also no means of attaching one. You have to be comfortable composing with the rear screen. Also, as we mentioned in our review, its autofocus can sometimes hunt in low light. We only sell one stop bath, ILFOSTOP. This is suitable for all our films and papers and, as it is a liquid concentrate, it is ideal for beginners. Nb. ILFORD SIMPLICTY Stop Bath contains pre-measured ILFOSTOP. Fixer The film developer, stop bath and fixer we recommend for beginners are all liquid concentrate chemistry and as such are easy to prepare. However, we still advise wearing protective glasses and suitable protective clothing. With the Harman Reusable, there’s even less to consider. The only decision you need to make is turning the flash on or off. That’s it. Compose, press the shutter button, wind the film, and get ready to take the next shot. The camera has a fixed shutter speed around 1/120 of a second, 31mm focal length, and an f/10 aperture with a fixed lens that focuses to infinity after 1m. So basically, everything is “in focus,” and the image will almost always turn out if the flash is on — unless you’re trying to photograph a distant object at night. There have been many times in my wedding photography career where I’ve struggled with creating perfectly sharp images. Praising sharpness and megapixels in imagery feels like an unending struggle. Some of my favorite photos have been good because they’re sharp — but many ‘technically bad’ photos are the best ones in my collection because of the emotion and life they captured. DxOmark would rate this camera dead last in sharpness — but that’s never been what this camera is about. What kind of film does the Harman Reusable Camera use?

It takes a lot for a camera to surprise us nowadays, so our attention was immediately caught by Fujifilm’s bold X-Pro3. Its reversed, “fold-down” rear screen isn’t visible during normal shooting, encouraging the user to immerse themselves in the viewfinder experience, without the constant “chimping” at the rear screen that can plague digital photography. It essentially provides a rangefinder-style experience without the expense or difficulty of a rangefinder camera. The Harman reusable Camea is the only film camer that goes with me evdise. It’s lightweight, sime, and easily the most fun camera I’ve ever used. We have a range of film developers suitable for tank processing including: 3 powder developers (ID-11, MICROPHEN and PERCEPTOL) and 5 liquid developers (ILFOTEC DD-X, ILFOSOL 3, ILFOTEC LC29, ILFOTEC HC, and PHENISOL).The flash is powered by AAA battery for fast recharge and long-life (battery included) and your camera comes with two Kentmere 400 35mm films to get you started straight out of the box. Fit the sealing cap and turn the tank upside down four times during the first 10 seconds and again for 10 seconds (that is four inversions) at the start of every further minute to agitate the developer. Each time you invert the tank tap it on the bench to dislodge any air bubbles which may have formed on the film.
