About this deal

Whatever equipment you need we have provided an exclusive selection of gear from awesome brands in all categories. The Storm 400 Headlamp 400 Lumens from Black Diamond is designed for use in all kinds of conditions with its robust water and dustproof parts and 400 lumens strong light. I don't think I've ever managed to break a micro USB input, and as I have plenty of old micro USB cables, and nothing that yet takes the new style, it's not presently an issue for me if this input is looking dated. This hugely practical headlamp is completely water and dust proof (rated to IPX67) allowing use in the most hostile and extreme environments.

This could be seen as a positive however, as it certainly eliminates the chance of the headband slackening during use! Since you're carrying all the weight on your forehead you might notice it when running, when I've found it has a tendency to shift and bounce. The recycled elastic headband uses a Repreve fiber which ticks a small sustainability box, and is incredibly soft and comfy. It has excellent staying power and was easy enough to fit to my climbing helmet and the headband can also be removed to allow the torch to be fitted to the chest strap or rear of your backpack too. Robust and pretty powerful for their size, they're each a good solid choice for climbers and hillwalkers.

I bought this after many reviews of other headlamps and all I can say is this thing is a great piece of gear to have for any backpacker, hiker, camper, etc. The headband is incredibly soft and having given it an initial ‘tug and wiggle test’, seems to be the right balance of stretchy with staying power (it’s also made from recycled elastic). The Storm 400 is a burly fully waterproof and dustproof headlamp build for any adventure or weather you can throw at it. Overall, it's a great headlamp that I would recommend to anyone looking for a good value, mid-high output lamp for all-weather use. We consider the Storm's additional performance functionality to be beneficial, and we consider the Storm to offer better bang for the buck than the Spot.

I have had this lamp for about three months and I still just need to hit random buttons multiple times or for varying durations until, by luck, it does what I want it to. Simply touch a factory determined spot on the right side of the headlamp with your finger and the lamp will switch back and forth from bright to dim.The one thing that I wish Black Diamond would do with their headlamps would be to provide a helmet mount that could be used to attach the headlamp to a helmet without the use of the headband, similar to the adhesive mounts that Petzl makes for some of its headlamps (e. I preferred a dimmed red for tasks that didn’t require much light, and a dimmed blue for scoping the guidebook.

I frequently commute on a bike at night and attach this lamp to my bike helmet (Giro Surface) using the elastic headband, but an adhesive mount would be much more secure. You want something with enough range to pick out distant features at the end of your abseil rope, or to highlight the tricky ground on an evening walk-off. It's well made, very bright when needed, and I'm confident it will last even through some rough handling and moisture. uk sells awesome equipment for outdoor activities, scouting, shooting sports, workouts, military, hunting and law enforcement.
