About this deal

The character development is really fun to witness, and it's nice to start understanding Guts a little more. Warrior supreme Guts has been marked for sacrifice to the armies of the damned, and now he has the blood of a village of possessed children on his hands.

It also does things that a lot of action stories don’t do nearly enough which is making the action brutal emotionally as well as gory. Wrapping up from the battle in the previous volume with the evil count and the Gods Hand, we now get the origin of Guts as a person and this was depressing and disturbing to read. One of the most eagerly anticipated manga properties in recent years, Berserk was originally published in Japan and has been serialized in Young Animal Magazine since the early 1990s.Created by Kentarou Miura and the inspiration for the wildly popular anime series, Berserk is an unholy hurricane of blood, carnage, and horror! I would recommend to mature graphic novel readers who enjoy fantasy manga packed with action and violence but balanced with a good story and engaging characters. Guts, the feared Black Swordsman, has saved the Band of the Hawk mercenaries from annihilation at the hands of the army of Midland, but he must now descend into the dungeons of Windham Castle to liberate Griffith, the Hawks’ charismatic leader.

The Band of the Hawk - what's left of them - are on the run, Guts and Casca having rescued the Hawks' leader, Griffith, from the horrors of the King of Midland's dungeons.

We see him grow up to fight in every battlefields and then meet the Band of Hawks with Griffith as the leader, a prominent character that i have heard a lot. And now, the entire Berserk series is being released in handsome oversized bookshelf editions, each collecting three volumes of the original manga.
