Of course, things get hairy when he realizes who she actually is. I liked this section of the book the least. I don’t think he handled it well, not the part when he was being mean to her or when he was brooding and feeling bad for it. I know she was always going to understand why he behaved as he did but *I* didn’t forgive him for his treatment of her so it made it hard to root for him. i wanted a mafia romance, so i enjoyed this book! i really we enjoy vale as the main female character. she was strong and badass. i loved that we got to see her growth, and more specifically her revenge! i enjoyed damiano as well, and i felt like the two of them had really great chemistry. the main reason i didn’t rate this higher, was because the relationship was very instalove and i really just don’t enjoy that. also, i didn’t really like the spice was very exceptional on my opinion. 🤷🏻‍♀️there are more books to come in the series, so i’m excited to read those! This book had its moments, Vale is a badass and the author made the effort of adding layers to both Vale and Damiano’s characters but IDK what it is, it just felt a little flat sometimes, however it did have the occasional thrill when they’d talk a little dirty to each other. The FMC's ( Valentina ) character development was everything , I felt it in my body . Seriously if it was me I would never survive what she had gone through. I want to give her a long hug and praise her for her character growth . The MMC's ( Damiano ) tragic past got me shedding tears and how he grew to this wise , rational and powerful man was mind-blowing . I ABSOLUTELY loved it . When She Unravels is a dark mafia romance that I thought was okay, but the potential is there, especially with the characters, our heroine, who I wish was much more developed.

The MCs had great chemistry and I enjoyed their interactions. This is definitely instalove/instalust. There is also technically cheating in this book since Valentina is still married when her and Damiano get together but I don't consider it cheating since her marriage was never a marriage. Her husband is a psychopath who really needed to get major help.The writing is pretty good, it's easy to get into, and I'd say I'm more interested in the characters here than the plot, which I think could have been better in many ways. It was a bit anticlimactic for me and didn't develop much further, particularly the conflict. no cheating or sharing between MCs (the h is married when she becomes intimate with the H, so she does cheat on her monster of a husband)

Valentina is feisty and catches Damiano’s attention in his nightclub in Ibiza. The chemistry between the two is sooo good. It started promising & them just fell flat :/ I was gonna dnf but then wanted to know how this wrapped up so I skimmed it but this was meh imo :/ My first book by Gabrielle Sands, and if she continues to write dark mafia romances, it definitely won't be my last. Overall, I think this book is okay but could have been much better. I'm looking forward to Martina's.a romance between ONE heroine and MULTIPLE heroes which ends in a committed HEA(happily ever after) I fell in love with this book within the first few chapters. I loved this so much, I have found a new insta buy author. I’ve had this one in my TBR for a while, have started and stopped three times before carrying on. I’m an emotionally minded reader, so sometimes books don’t hit right based on my mood at the moment. I never got past the beginning beyond the first interactions with her awful husband or to her escape. I can’t even say why, but I’m glad I finally pushed through. It was so worth it. I share this only so that anyone else who may find themselves in a similar situation may be reassured it’s worth pushing on. The h was in a dreadful arranged marriage but it was definitely not the stuff of dark romance fairytales. Her husband is a literal sociopath I think. The book opens two months into the marriage. We learn he did unpleasantly consummate their marriage on their wedding night but it turns out he had more sadistic tastes. He didn’t physically hurt h, he forced her to torture and kill his marks with him. She’s summoned home from a bridal shower early to find he has a girl, a job, she’s meant to help him torture. Instead she helps her escape and shoots her husband. When She Unravels is the first book in Gabrielle Sands' new mafia romance series. It is actually the first mafia romance I have read, and it was incredible.

After their paths cross, we begin Damiano's journey to claiming his throne and Valentina's from an obedient, fearful mafia wife and daughter to bold, unafraid mafia queen. Secrets and mistrust have them at odds, even when feelings are involved, and outside enemies create other problems and dangers. Damiano struggles with the decisions he makes, as much as with the reasons he makes them, while Valentina struggles with her own guilt for the things she was made to do and for leaving her sisters behind to face their father's wrath. Liked the characters, a couple decent 🔥 scenes, overarching plot and existing character development! Fue una lectura rápida para mí. Es una historia bien escrita que me mantuvo más entretenida en el aspecto de la mafia que la misma atracción entre la pareja. Lo que más me gustó es que Valentina es una mujer luchadora, dura y fuerte. Puede defenderse por sí sola y lo demostró. I really liked that she wasn't a princess princess. She stays in a hostel gets a job as a cleaner and never complains about it despite being brought up as a mafia princess. It was so refreshing. (There is no stereotypical shopping trip, fancy restaurants, private plane trips away etc.) It was so much better than I expected. The story of Valentina & Damiano is beautiful, heartbreaking and exciting. The writing style is awesome! I really enjoyed the premise of this book. We get to meet Valentina and what is going on in her life and it's not good. She was forced to marry her father's best soldier and during the 2 months they were married he made her do horrific acts that will never leave her. I was horrified when it was described and especially how her mother/father knew about it all and what she was being forced to do and yet they didn't care and believed it to be his wifely duties. The side characters were interesting and I can't wait for the second book's release cuz I'm going to eat it up .I didn't know what to expect before reading this book - I had never read anything by Gabrielle beforehand but I knew after reading the premise that when the oppurtunity came up to receive this ARC that I wanted to get my hands on it and surely enough I got the chance. This book could be a 5 stars for me. But, I'm not a fan of insta love they have. It could've been a great enemies to lovers. Maybe wanted something more, but overall was a good read, kept me interested, unlike some other books recently.. ! Couldn’t put it down! Great storyline and well written. Characters are great couldn’t recommend more.
