It all has to do with how gases and water vapour behave in enclosed spaces, and is governed by a few Laws of Physics, such as Boyle’s, Charles’, Dalton’s & Henry’s. In essence, once water enters a space (because it is not sealed properly) instead of the water evaporating out again later, it becomes water vapour and remains in the space for a much longer time. This effect can be easily confirmed, by examining vehicles that use hinge-caps over the number-plate fixings. Even on cars less than 6 months old, zinc-coated screws will show signs of advanced corrosion. Very good product , i use these for all our hoarding projects. Fitting the Cap to the Washer may require more force. It may also result in a white 'stress' ring forming around the perimeter of the cap. The white ring may disappear over time, especially if the caps are warmed up.

The large screw covers have an outside diameter of 5/8 inch. The large screw covers fit most screws in size #10, #12, #14, 1/4 inch, M5 and M6. Ensure you are using the correct-sized Snap-Cap for the fixing. Some imported fixings may not conform to British or EU standards, and the heads of the fixings may be up to 40% oversized The small screw caps have an outside diameter of 1/2 inch. The covers fit most screw sizes from #6 and #8 screws (M3 and M4). If your screw head is over 1/3 inch use the large size.
