Had a 2hour walk in the rain fully zipped up and the jacket let in water and i was wet through when i got back home. The two zipped hand pockets have been situated slightly higher up the body, ensuring you have access to them when wearing a rucksack harness. Used this on a weekend walking session in the Lakes and it proved its worth in an excellent way both in comfort, wind proof and was effective in the wet weather we encountered. However, with a waterproof rating of 10,000mm, the jacket was an ideal choice for days spent outdoors. It is also coated for water resistance, but I must say, this jacket is also great at keeping the wind out with its velcro cuffs and elasticated waist.Wet Weather Protection – Drawstring toggles around the waist and either side of the hood allows you to seal the jacket to prevent rain from getting to your inner layers. it won’t break the bank, allowing you to spend the money you save on other essential gear you may need. The two hand-warmer pockets, along with an inner pocket, provide practical storage solutions for small items, enhancing the jacket’s functionality as everyday outdoor gear. Although the name may sound somewhat German, Berghaus is in fact a British company and manufacturer of outdoor gear. The very light weight of the Stormcloud makes it a good jacket for backpacking, especially in warmer weather (it’s not really suitable for full-on winter conditions).
