Have Used Birdie balls for years hitting from my front yard into the Park across the street……need to be aware of two things that are negative about them. Seriously, with this accessory all you need is an empty parking lot (or other outdoors space) to work on your golf swing. You can easily see if you hit a draw, a cut, or a straight shot thanks to its realistic spin characteristics. After I began playing golf again, I wanted a way to practice regularly— after all, I’d like to improve, and I know of no way to do so other than put in the work. I don’t have the coin to get a simulator, and practice nets do not give me the kind of feedback that I need to figure out my swing.

It’s so convenient to try out new putting techniques/grips at home and practice while watching TV (especially when golf is on). Plus, they travel about 1/3 the length of a BirdieBall, which makes it less convenient when you’re hitting and having to hunt them down. Any strike compresses the bal to some extent, but imparting spin has little or nothing to do with how much the ball is compressed by the contact force from the club. What if you could have a whole lot of fun, and enjoy meaningful, accurate golf practice anytime you want, at your local park, on the oval, or even in your backyard?However, I wanted to see if we could measure things like ball speed and spin but that is where the birdieballs fall short. The problem is that most golfers have busy lives and simply don’t have the time to constantly drive to the nearest golf course just to practice their putting stroke.

I’ve had a package of BirdieBall for a number of years as it was given to us within a grab-bag at a golf tournament. I used them occasionally when I play a course that doesn’t have a driving range to practice full iron swings. After receiving my BirdieBall’s and BirdieBall Mat I made plans to try out this product the best way I knew how…. I can tell by contact whether I really hit the ball or not, and without fail, the ball flight corresponds correctly, in terms of distance, velocity, height, and curvature (or lack there of).

Now, almost a year later (and having hit these probably over a thousand times) I can firmly say that these are the ideal practice aid for me.They are difficult to hit off of a slope, as you have less surface area to strike (you can’t hit the ball if it is on its side). After carefully weighing out all factors, I’ll give the BirdieBall putting green a 5 out of 10 rating. If so, then we need to talk more about this new training aid that is taking the golf world by storm. They have invented an indoor putting matt that can be customized to various sizes, and more importantly different speeds. They don’t act like a real ball thanks to their design and can’t stand the effects of high speed and a driver for very long.
