About this deal

Proving Unit Kits are a combination of proving units and voltage indicators, similar to the Martindale VIPD150 kit where both devices are carried in a dedicated pouch for easy transportation. Measuring voltages from 50V to 690V, it has a versatile range for several voltage testers. Why Choose RS for a Martindale Proving Unit? Compact and lightweight, the new proving devices can easily be carried around in an electricians’ tool kit so test instruments can be proved before and after working on any circuit as advocated by the Electrical Safety Council. The new VI-15000 has a 1000V CATIV safety rating and LED indication for AC/DC voltages from 50V to 690V and above, ensuring compliance with health and safety recommendations for safe working in all BS EN61010 installation categories. It’s the simplest and most reliable way to ensure circuits have been de-energised and properly isolated prior to maintenance and modifications. It is good practice to match the output voltage of the proving unit with the voltage range of the instrument to be proved. Based on the industry endorsed VI3800, the new CATIV design not only provides improved protection against voltage transients, but also includes a high wattage resistor that will limit the current in the event of damage to the cable in accordance with BS EN61243-3. The protection is built in where it’s needed, in the handheld probe assembly rather than just in the instrument providing superior protection for the user to other testers.

Safe electrical working requires the use of a voltage indicator that has been proven with a suitable proving device before and after use to ensure the instrument is working correctly in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations.Martindale VT12PD-S, VT25PD-S, & VT28PD-S Voltage Tester & Proving Unit Kit Technical Specifications The Martindale PD440S Proving Unit is a compact, lightweight addition for any operator performing safe isolation procedures. Ensuring tester accuracy, both poles are matched to the corresponding terminal on the device, which will then provide a continuous supply of 440V, 50Hz volts. The output will last for up to 10 seconds or less if the probe tips are removed beforehand.

The indicator contains bright neon lights with extended life which give a fast effective display of voltage level range. Martindale have designed the instrument with safety in mind with double insulated test leads and finger guards to prevent the possibility of slipping onto live circuits. The VI13800 is an essential tool for proving electrical circuits are dead before carrying out maintenance and installation work in accordance with safe isolation procedures. The VI13800 ensures safety through simplicity, with no ranges, switches or batteries, reducing the risk of an incorrect reading. The PD430 adds a lower voltage range of 50V. This is because 50V can be lethal so it is important for extra safety that you can prove your voltage indicator will illuminate at 50V, which is a requirement of IEC 61243. Suitable for use with Drummond Test Lamps, Digital Multimeters, and Low Impedance Voltage Testers, Martindale’s new Proving Devices offer a greater level of operator safety as they generate voltages up to 450V. The Martindale VT28 is a tough, compact two pole tester with both LCD and LED displays for measuring AC/DC voltages from 12V to 690V. Additional capabilities include continuity and phase rotation testing plus single pole voltage detection. A Voltage Indicator should always be tested against a live source or proving unit to confirm the long term reliability of results given whilst testing live circuits. Martindale are currently the market leaders in Voltage Detection and the latest update to the VIPD Kit continues their reputation for highly accurate test equipment.
