Wandering Oak / Infinity Mirror: Minami Deutsch / 南ドイツ (JP) - The Cluny - Newcastle upon Tyne

Wednesday 14th AugustWandering Oak and Infinity Mirror Records bring you:• Minami Deutsch / 南ドイツ • (Japan. Guruguru Brain / Cardinal Fuzz)Minami Deutsch is a Japanese psych / kosmische band formed in 2014. Their sound is influenced by both their love for Krautrock legends such as Can and Neu!, and the band members being self-professed “repetition freaks” who heavily listen to minimal techno.Formed by Kyotaro Miula in 2014, they got their start playing live music on the busy streets of Tokyo. In September 2015 they released their first record through Cardinal Fuzz Records in the UK, and on cassette / download through Tokyo-based label Guruguru Brain. At times dreamy and evocative and at others electrifying in its energy, Minami Deutsch is the kind of record you stay with from beginning to end.2018's Second LP With Dim Light only reaffirms the galvanising effect, proving the band to be a heavyweight asset to the Guruguru roster. Effortlessly embedded in international psych circles, the band's forward momentum has brought them exposure at LEVITATION, Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia and Roadburn Festival, culminating there in an electric live collaboration with Damo Suzuki at Roadburn 2018, released on Fuzz Club Records.FFO Neu! / Kikagaku Moyo / 幾何学模様 / CANhttp://minamideutsch.tumblr.com/• Wax Machine •"Interweaving the influences of Art-Prog-Rock, Folk, Space-Psychedelia, Funk-Fusion, Blues, Afro-Beat, etc. and combining male-female vocals, the band offers amazingly enjoyable Retro-Rock resembling British "Canterbury Scene" of the late 60's."- Lost in Groove"Wax Machine are like nothing this side of the 21st century; their appeal comes directly from their friendly freakiness that evokes the twisted, playful and slightly scary vibes of those old 60s & 70s b-movie soundtracks."- GoldFlakePaintFFO Caravan / Kaleidoscope / The Wicker Man(1973)https://waxmachine.bandcamp.com/• Snakes Don't Belong In Alaska • (Cardinal Fuzz Records)Newcastle collective Snakes Don't Belong In Alaska have been slowly but steadily making a name for themselves on the UK psych circuit, hosting numerous international touring acts and putting out some radical self-released (and highly limited) recordings under their own Infinity Mirror Records imprint, drawing on an aural temple map leading straight from Ash Ra to Acid Mothers.FFO Kawabata Makoto / IRN-BRU (first pressing)https://snakesdontbelonginalaska.bandcamp.com/Advance available via SEE Tickets:https://www.seetickets.com/event/minami-deutsch/cluny2/1378692Also available over the bar at The Cluny (without booking fee) and RPM Music / Beatdown Records / Reflex CD Vinyl Newcastle / 586 RecordsCluny236 Lime StreetNewcastle upon TyneNE1 2PQFor ages 18+ only, from 7:30pm
