About this deal

Quality Optics: Users have praised the high-quality images that the Phone Skope produces. It effectively enhances your phone’s camera, delivering excellent visual performance. A unique feature of this adapter is a lanyard that you can rest on your eyepiece as a safety in case it falls off of your scope. Pros

Premium digiscoping adapters that center smartphone cameras over optics, allowing you to capture pictures and record video. Access The Phone Skope Builder Universal Adapters They understand the market’s diversity and ensure that no matter what brand or model you use, there’s a Phone Skope adapter for you. Performance and image quality are perhaps the most critical aspects for users. Phone Skope has made a name for itself in delivering high-quality images. The lenses effectively augment the phone’s camera, providing exceptional visual performance. If your scope doesn’t fit with one of the provided eyepiece adapters, you will have to shell out some more money to get the correct fitting adapter. Limited Compatibility: Unlike Phone Skope, Magview’s compatibility is limited to specific phone models.Slow motion - The app lets users record videos in slow motion, which means capturing numerous frames per second! Quality Concerns: Some users have reported that the image quality with Magview isn’t quite as sharp as that of Phone Skope. When I used the iScoping adapter with my iPhone 4S, I was unable to use a screen cover on the phone because the width of the case was too precisely formed for the phone to slide in when it had any sort of screen cover. I like using a screen cover to protect the phone from scratches so this was a real downside for me. However, I believe this was fixed in the model that fits the iPhone 5/5s. On the newest adapters, the eyepiece adapter comes off and the case has no raised areas so it is really usable as a full time case; you can just keep the adapters nearby to screw on when you have a digiscoping opportunity. Pros Moreover, their robust app, though with a learning curve, offers a wide range of features, elevating the user experience. This makes the Novagrade adapter very sharable, as most iPhone cases are roughly the same size and the Novagrade adapter is very easy to adjust. This was the most expensive adapter I tested, but it would also likely be the last smartphone digiscoping adapter you would have to buy as the adjustability should allow it to function with a wide range of phones. You should have no problem popping your Nokia Lumia or Samsung Galaxy into this adapter and getting some great shots.

Learning Curve: While the app is robust, it may take some time for new users to familiarize themselves with all of its functionalities. Discover a whole new way to bird watching with Phone Skope's digiscoping technology. By combining your smartphone with a high-quality spotting scope or binoculars using the Phone Skope Adapter, you can now capture stunning close-up images and videos of birds in their natural habitat. Finally, price plays a major role in consumer decisions. Phone Skope, with its broader compatibility and higher image quality, comes at a higher price. For hobbyists and professionals who don’t mind shelling out for superior quality and versatility, Phone Skope would be a worthy investment. One thing unique about Phone Skope is that in addition to iPhone and Android cases, they also make models for iPads! It might seem absurd at first, but hooking up an iPad to a scope would be a great way to share what you are seeing in the scope because people can just look at the iPad screen rather than having to get close to the scope and adjust the height and focus, potentially getting off of the bird. I could see this being a game changer for leading group bird walks, especially kids who might have problems looking through the scope eyepiece without bumping the scope off of the bird. ProsThe Phone Skope cases are solid and afford the phone some level of protection if it is dropped, while the fit of the eyepiece adapter (at least on my Zeiss Diascope) was snug enough that I felt very comfortable leaving the phone just sitting on the eyepiece, something that is crucial if you want to get some high quality video with no shake or vibration. Magview, while easy to set up, has faced criticism regarding image quality. Users have found the output not as crisp as Phone Skope’s, marking a significant difference between the two. When we were testing this item we made a video of a bug on a leaf - a microscopic bug too small to see with the naked eye. We were so impressed with the video we've posted it on YouTube, just so you can see what the Phonescope is capable of photographing or videoing! In the realm of digital optics, the struggle to find the perfect balance between functionality and convenience is an ongoing battle.
