I was so super chuffed to be able to test out this Road Angel Halo View, as I have been toying with the idea of getting a dash cam for ages but just haven't got round to it.

I've seen other reviews where users are complaining about the app, so hopefully Road Angel are engaging with real users of this dashcam to improve it.I didn’t get on with Road Angel’s app, but it’s only really necessary to tweak the aim and settings, and to get the exact location of an incident. The new Halo View’s rear camera Super View enhancement technology covering 125o wide angled view constantly monitors road conditions and weather, enhancing colour and brightness when conditions are dull, clarity when in foggy conditions and focus when rain droplets are on the rear camera’s lens. One feature of the app which I found odd is the option to edit and add filters to the photos and videos recorded by the Road Angel Halo Pro Dashcam.

Many other dashcams available are cheaper, not sure I would pay extra for the connectivity and other features personally but a good gadget to have and on reflection it may be worth the GPS and speed tracking information. Inserting and removing these cards - and their general unreliability - really holds back most dashcams and makes them more difficult to handle, but not this one! I would prefer if the dashcam had a button on it to mark videos for saving, but aside from that, the hardware performs flawlessly. Warnings and commands are subtle enough, and it pairs up quickly to its app, which also lets you control it wirelessly.

I could read most road signs picked out by my headlights, and make out the number plates of some parked cars, depending how my headlights caught them – a direct hit tends to cause too much reflection for any camera.
