Failure to fit the protector will invalidate the warranty of the Dishwasher and will definately, in time, ruin the worktop. The protective strip that was sent with your Dishwasher MUST be fitted to the underside of the worktop. The material that it is made from varys from manufacturer to manufacturer.I am not sure which type Baumatic supply, but it will be either a thin pressed steel plate about 3" deep, or it may be a self adhesive white plastic strip, possibly even a self adhesive foil. This is a adhesive protection strip to apply to the edge of your work surface directly above the dishwasher door to help try to prevent any condensation damaging the worktop.

Sorry to give you all this doom and gloom, but you really should try and get hold of the guy who fitted it and get him to put it right. Is this a house you have built yourself, or bought from a small builder ? Asking because it's very rare if ever that any of the major house builders would ever use Howdens as a supplier for kitchens.I was going to mention that JJ, but given the fact that the D/W doesnt appear to have been fitted correctly, I have my doubts that the sink cut-out will have been sealed correctly either ! As long as they allow the D/W to cool down enough before opening the door, then hopefully there shouldnt be a problem. If he has "fixed" the D/W in position with silicone sealant as you describe, if something goes wrong with the appliance during the period of the maufacturers warranty, they will absolve themselves of all liability due to incorrect installation. It will not matter whether the possible future fault had anything to do with the silicone or not. I would try to chase him up but it's been some months since the job was done and I'm not a very assertive person to be honest so I'd end up swallowing a line of excuses anyway (happened recently with a guy I used to fit my blinds - my lovely, wonky, creased blinds.. *sigh*). Superdrug adds new 'VIP Rewards' offers to its existing loyalty scheme – here's what you need to know Mmm, thought that might be the case. The problem though is that the "small reputable family company" used a **** kitchen fitter.

Our Velux windows have a strip along the top that seems to be colder than the rest so the condensation forms on it and then drips off, forming a puddle on the floor below. It is an ideal replacement for your appliance and is suitable for a range of Hotpoint, Indesit, Creda and other branded dishwashers. Duropal laminate worktops are probably one of the better quality worktops, but even with the resin injected protective bead that they have, the moisture and heat/steam will still get into the top eventually.
Tesco Mobile is to start charging new and recently joining pay-monthly customers to use their mobiles in Europe from 2024. Dont let the fitter "Fob" you off with any C . . P that it was missing in the first place, any decent fitter worth his salt would have advised you of this at the time that it was found to be missing. If you're a regular Superdrug shopper, you can now earn more freebies and discounts under its Health & Beautycard loyalty scheme, as the retailer has launched new 'VIP Rewards' as part of it. Thank you again for your help. Sorry about the picture. You're right that the DW is not fixed to the worktop on the RHS. On the LHS the fitter has used a screw. He's also used clear silicone on both sides of the DW, between the adjacent units so I imagine this was his way of stabilising it (I was wondering why that had been done).
