About this deal

INSECT PROOF - with B3 breathable mesh, you can still ventilate your tent without 10 million mosquitoes inviting themselves in for the evening. Storing a wet tent for as little as 24 hours in warm weather is also likely to start the process of mildew forming on the fabric. Inside of the tent, there is a wonderful small bag which can make your trip more fun, just put your books or magazines in the bag. These choices all likely help the Cloud UP achieve its low claimed weight, but they also introduce compromise into the design. It’s a freestanding tent so before you stake the tent into the ground, it can be moved around, which came in handy on many occasions.

I bought this tent for hiking and wild-camping in Scotland, from beaches and loch fronts to mountainous summit or off-summit camps. Overall for 15000 yen ( about 150 bucks ), I guess it is good since it weighs less then my other tent. Double skin construction minimises condensation, while sturdy aluminium poles ensure structure that can cope with the harshest weather. LIGHTWEIGHT - these tents tip the scales at 1820 grams, making them hardly the porkiest tents you'll pitch! It’s great to see it included as it not only improves durability but also, in our opinion, adds to the value proposition of this tent. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. The zippers haven’t broken, it isn’t leaking (and I haven’t resealed the seams) and the poles are fine. The Naturehike Cloud Up 2 has a decent-sized vestibule which easily fits my 55L pack plus two pairs of boots. Mine hasn’t punctured or ripped yet, but I’m always very careful about clearing the pitch space of sharps before setting it up. If you want something roomier but which is still this light, then get the Cloud Up 3P – or be prepared to spend a lot more.

If you want a lightweight tent which isn’t as droopy, you can check out the Mongar 2P or Star River 2P by Naturehike. The low volume of the packed tent is a real bonus when it comes to packing for a trip as it can allow you to choose a smaller and lighter backpack – or simply bring more stuff. With a packed size of 40x13cm/16x5in, the Naturehike also impresses and puts several much more expensive tests in our round up to shame. I originally read that it is sometimes slightly harder on certain parts of Te Araroa to find a spot to set up a 2-person tent, but in the entire 155 days I never had a problem finding a space to pitch the tent.when you include the groundsheet it comes with which is definitely not ultralight but it was acceptable for me. Nylon is used extensively by tents – including many that are substantially more costly than the Cloud UP – and it’s a well-proven material that will offer a good degree of weather resistance. Distance walked may be higher than Trail covered if I deviated from the trail, or it may be lower because the GPS Watch often under-reads the actual distance walked. I found the included footprint a bit bulky so bought a lighter-weight one, Tyvek would be ideal too.

There are some other differences, like that the CloudUp 2 uses seven clips instead of six, doesn’t have guylines attached to the tent body, and has 14 stakes instead of 11. With sizes able to sleep from 1-2 campers, this versatile tent includes a floor, a footprint and a removable fly that provides optimal protection from wet weather and breathable walls to ensure ample airflow. Here’s my honest review of the Naturehike Cloud Up so you can figure out whether it will work for your style of backpacking. You can also leave a door open in good weather, or take advantage of the double sliders on the doors to vent from the top where warm and moist air tends to accumulate. The cloud up 2 can also be used as a tarp tent or single inner tent, depending on the needs during the planned trip, making it even lighter and more compact. The Nature Hike Cloud UP utilises a tapered design and only has a single entrance which is placed above where the occupant’s heads would be when sleeping. Mesh design: B3 mesh design for perfect mosquitoe-free protection and better breathability of the tent. Thanks to the innovative design to attach the inner tent sheet, the ceiling of the tent inside looks more wide than you would assume from seeing it outside.
