About this deal

The textbooks are packed with grammar explanations, vocabulary lists, exercises, audio recordings, and accompanying workbooks. I may be ready for that ‘separate’ book clarification (but I do wonder about the presentation within that supplemental book). Genki is the other Japanese language book series that makes every student doubt which one they should go with. Compré la versión económica y venía con un CD (que no he usado ni usaré), ya que prefiero la lectura. I kind of wished there was some more workbooks for listening that didn't fall into the "practise for the JLPT Listening section". If not, I pause and read the grammar explanation for the chapter, then go back and re-read the sentences. Those workbooks that start from the very beginning and gradually go up are really helpful to train listening.I studied this book along with a workbook, which had exercises in it to work out based on the lessons found in this book. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. The university I attended used this series, and I can confirm it will help with all areas of Japanese. This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees.

It goes into the grammar and more importantly into the connectors and which connector to use with what. I dislike that it continues to teach you verbs in -masu form as the vocabulary rather than dictionary form after teaching you about plain form, conjugating ‘te’ and ‘ta’ forms etc. is entirely in Japanese and you require a secondary english translation guide to navigate through it and learn lessons. Since it was first published in 1998, Minna no Nihongo has been a long-selling and classic textbook for both teachers and learners of Japanese alike. Although both books have a section dedicated to Hiragana and Katakana in their introduction, those two syllabaries should have been mastered before tackling the content of the lessons itself.Although the overall structure is very similar for both series, one of the main differences for the textbooks is that the instructions are given in English for Genki while there is no English featured in the main textbook for Minna no Nihongo (the translation can be found in a separate workbook). You feel like you would be sitting at a table with a buddy of yours (who is fluent in Japanese) and explains you the first simple quirks of Japanese grammar.
