About this deal

After thorough testing and encountering the real-life unpredictability of an off-guard flat battery, I feel confident in saying that the Marshall Monitor II headphones have a pretty excellent battery life at around 30 hours (with active noise cancelling activated, and perhaps an additional 10 hours without).

Even though I'm a freelancer now, PCMag has been my home for well over a decade, and audio gear reviews are still my primary focus. And it lets you get hands-free help from your smart device’s voice assistant, all without needing to glance at your phone.

mm input which you can plug the provided cable into (although unfortunately this means that the volume controls on the headphones themselves won't work). While it’s far from taking the crown away from the likes of the Sony WH-1000XM5 or the Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700, it is fine. Though they don’t change much in terms of design and the slightly bass-favoring sound balance remains, they do add good Bluetooth functionality with a strong 30 hours of battery life to make matters better. Engineered for an all-day listening experience, they boast up to 30 hours of wireless playtime with active noise cancelling and up to 45 hours without, meaning you’ll never miss a beat. They feel comfortable, and look more subdued than Marshall’s on-ear headphones, but don’t sacrifice that cool rock heritage. The display of third-party trademarks and trade names on this site does not necessarily indicate any affiliation or the endorsement of PCMag. As previously touched upon, should you find yourself on an awkward work day where you've simply not charged the Monitor IIs for some time - you can simply plug in your coiled cable and carry on listening to your jams (at the cost of its Active Noise Cancelling and on-headphones controls) - a simple feature that simply cannot be praised enough. Harmonized vocals are just as impressive in Everything Everything’s Desire, in which pounding drums, cascading guitar riffs, and fuzzy synths obfuscate the melody; in spite of the chaos, the Marshall’s handle the track with ease. The lack of balance in the Marshall Monitors isn't enough to impact many genres, but it does mean if you’re a fan of instrumental and classical titles you won’t hear these songs at their absolute best.

Would you say these are comparable to the bluetooth (non-ANC) Monitors, and/or the original (wired) Monitors? Optimal alignment of the ear cups on the ears is ensured by the extensions, which can be pulled out in thirteen increments and snap-in tightly, and the ear cup suspensions connected to a combination joint. With a collapsible design, you can take the Monitor II ANC anywhere on the go with their compact size.

The only real down is that they are not plug’n’play -- you have to dance around on the EQ to get them sounding good. Whether you're drawn to the guitar amp-inspired look or not, all of the Marshall audio products we've tested have been consistently well-designed and deliver high-quality audio. Tekzone offers a range of photography products including digital DSLR cameras, lenses, action cameras, instant cameras and accessories from top brands including Leica, GoPro, Tamron, Canon and Fujifilm. My experience with the Marshall Monitor II headphones has been, in short; revolutionary - and I simply cannot go back to my regular earbuds again without feeling at least a hint of disappointment. ANC is different because it changes the sound of the headphones, and it takes a lot of work to get them to sound close to the same with ANC on or off.

Mike Massé’s live recording of Blackbird is delivered with a delicate poise and attention to detail that allows you to not only hear the vocals and guitar but also take in the ambience of the venue at the same time. Yet, with the Monitor II being almost three years old, with no actual technological upgrades to the Diamond Jubilee Edition headphones - do the Marshall Monitor IIs stand up to this year's headphones competition? Without noise cancellation the Monitor II ANC lastsan addition 15 hours for a total of upto 45 hours playtime. When I played Peter Gabriel’s “Big Time” ( So, 320kbps Ogg Vorbis, Geffen/Spotify), the sound had a vivid, exciting vibe, but seemed bass-light and midrange-heavy. For audiophiles, gamers, editors, lovers of Marshall products - there really aren't many options that can outwardly knock the absolute splendour of Marshall's Monitor II headphones - from the solid battery to the excellent, vibrant sound unlike few other headphones at its budget, it's rare that I am lost for words while reviewing headphones - and the Monitor II's have consistently left me unable to speak, they're just that good.We love how this small accent of gold contrasts with the utilitarian leather-look housings and exposed coiled cords, adding a touch of rock n roll elegance to the headphones. Plastic is definitely lighter and easier to wear, but there’s something inspiring about cold metal and leather. Advanced active noise cancelling technology continually pinpoints and blocks external sound, so you can focus on what matters most; the music. It’s also extremely convenient to be able to access hear-through mode using a button on the headphones, rather than having to go into an app to do it -- in my experience, relegating any control to an app means it’s exponentially less likely to be used.
