This is to say that if you think that Italy is only ideal for a culture-, art- and history-packed vacation, you should think again: it is also a perfect travel destination for a beach vacation as well! Venice, with its enchanting canals and palaces, is not only a romantic destination but also a haven for art lovers. From the world-renowned Trevi Fountain to the halls of the Borghese Gallery, Italian art is prominently on display in Rome, the city where much of it originated. Additionally, the Italian government regulates a strict system of production over its most significant foods — the DOP/DOCG designation, or Designated Origin of Protection — which results in a higher quality product.

In the three weeks that we spent together in Italy, just one month after getting together, we realized something very quickly… We were as equally in love with each other as we were with Italy. One of the reasons food in Italy is so good is that it still reflects the region in which it is grown and eaten. With its rich cultural heritage, awe-inspiring history, and mouthwatering cuisine, it is no wonder that foreigners have an enduring love affair with Italy.Although Italian men have a reputation for being handsome and well-dressed, their appeal is more about their attitude. From the rich, hearty dishes of the north to the fresh seafood of the south, every region has its own unique specialties. The city's vibrant art scene features the works of renowned Venetian painters such as Titian and Tintoretto. Due to the politics at the time, I ended up dropping Barcelona, but there is a lot of Modernista architecture in the city (the Spanish version of Art Nouveau - Gaudi and his counterparts). The palaces and castles in Italy deserve a dedicated blog post about them or even a book as there are hundreds of them scattered around the country.
