About this deal
And the way her entire life is somewhat upheaved for six months because of a man she knew for THREE WEEKS? Except that’s all there is to them, Charlie does add some humour but mainly feels like they’re there just to tick another box.
She’d happily do this by herself using a surrogate but she’d quite like to do it with somebody alongside her.Obviously I want there to be more diversity in this book but this book just had so much it felt forced. The stories all felt a little predictable, which was a shame as this the premise on which the book is based on.
I suppose she seemed a little lost and upset about having to rearrange her life due to family responsibilities and duties, but it was a little annoying and made the whole middle seem really slow and sex-filled. I didn’t really appreciated Penny’s infidelities and was frustrated she was quite happy to jump between different men – I guess I was hoping for a heroine with more morality? But maybe I’m old school when it comes to love because Penny’s indecisiveness till the end about her choice and flirting with three men at the same time just a little irritated me and damaged my ideal romcom idea. Survivor of breast cancer at 25, she's feeling low that she hadn't had a real relationship in 5 years. So now Penny is not in a "love triangle", but a "love square", as her friend and workmate says to her.
