About this deal

ranwan already makes me feel so unhinged and i’m very worried considering this volume barely scratches the surface. He was controlled by chess fraction plus he had a demon flower that's been planted in his body for over 8 years, so what do you expect? His shizun was really similar to a cat, while he himself was like a dumb puppy slobbering and wagging his tail.

Everything progressed at a breakneck pace and something that happened a few chapters galt like it happened days ago in reality. But within, in truth, he’d been treated coldly by others for so long, been feared for so long, that as he walked this long and lonely road, his opinion of himself had slowly crumbled to dust”. I couldn't bear it, I don't know how many times I had to stop reading just to breathe and get rid of the suffocating feelings in my chest.

But if you're like me and just can't handle someone falling in love with their rapist, I say you pass on this one.

If it wasn’t enough, he’s gay and in love with his student, Mo Ran, ten years his junior and in love with Shi Mei, another one of his students. But a mature love where there are no need many words, It's just like "Knowing that I'm always by your side is enough.Maybe if this novel was written mostly from Chu Wanning's point of view, it wouldn't have such high reviews. The other lower-rated novel's MC was the shou, so from the shou's point of view the reader would feel the pain that the shou felt without any "reasons" given by the gong, so the reader would feel less inclined to sympathize with the abuser (even if the aubser was also coined as a "dumb husky type"). While I agree I would have dnfed it had it been a contemporary, my brain is wired differently when I pick up danmei novels. People are much more than what they show on the surface: Chu Wanning, for example, is like aloe vera. However, word of warning, this novel will make you stay up at 2 am contemplating on why you chose to read this.

I found Mo Ran and Shi Mei's relationship to be very compelling (be it platonic or romantic it does not matter), their interactions are some of my favorite throughout the volume and one of the few things that kept me going,I know of most of the major plot points that happen later on so I want to see where their characters will get in the future and how, probably one of the only reasons I will continue reading this series. Be aware that he won’t shy away from telling you every single terrible thing he had done, so I wouldn’t recommend this if you can’t manage to enjoy very gray characters. The author is also very good at writing scene descriptions, I could easily find myself perfectly imagining the scenary as it is being described in the novel, sometimes sounding almost poetic. By bidding on, or purchasing this item, you are agreeing to us sharing your name and address details with that 3rd party supplier to allow us to fulfil our contractual obligations to you. The environmental conditions of the two of them were also different due to Mo Ran's rebirth, which made him have a more stronger bond with Shizun, Xue Meng and Moran himself. I cl**ked that first chapter and like some masochist, I watched the author trample, devour, and shred my heart to pieces before ruthlessly spitting it out as I continued to read on.

While for Shi Mei, although he also committed many crimes, he had not done anything that truly extraordinary, the things he did were mostly still the basis of what Hua Bainan did. I can’t believe that a couple days ago I didn’t even know their names and now I feel consumed by the intensity of their tragic love story. There's so much more that I want to talk about and at the same time I don't know what else to say, so I'll just stop here. I cant read chinese so I read the translation and they really did a great job on translating this novel.

No matter the fact alone that this is how what's going to be the endgame main couple is introduced into the story by itself is off-putting to me. During his past life, he had born a hate filled grudge against his Shizun, Chu WanNing, and had held him captive and forced him to become his concubine to exact his revenge against him. Mo Ran in his first life becomes a mad and cruel Emperor of the mortal realm, who eventually loses all passion and meaning in his world and takes his own life. The original timeline’s Taxian-Jun’s abuse of Chu WanNing is explored in bursts, while the new timeline’s Mo Ran is trying to atone and take things slow with Chu WanNing. A historical fantasy epic about a tyrant’s second chance at life and the powerful cultivation teacher he can’t get out of his mind.
