About this deal

The female figure who showed herself with a broken neck was identified by the Warrens as Bathsheba, and often attacked Carolyn, the girls' mother. The book is terrible and the only reason I finished it and am currently reading the second is because I'm interesting in the actual ghost story. Their odyssey is chronicled by the eldest sibling and is an unabridged account of a supernatural excursion. Having heard another the movie, I decided to read the story behind the hauntings first, and boy am I glad I did.

I was just two months old when my parents bought our first home in Willimantic, Connecticut, where all my sisters came into the world. It was a presence of comfort and caring; one who never meant to frighten or disturb youngsters in their own beds. In 2007 I began writing the manuscript which has now evolved into the trilogy "House of Darkness House of Light" and relocated (again) to Georgia to be with my family while embarking on such a major project involving all of them as well. This makes me wonder if perhaps one of the ghosts had been suffocated and was trying to reproduce their own death.Another part that I so disliked was in various parts of the book the author would type in "Boo" who goes there or Boo, who's knocking on the door now, or Boo, who just picked up the phone. made me wonder does this author really think all the readers who took the time to read this story were THAT dumb that we lacked the knowledge to understand when a point was being made in a sentence.

He was an omnipresent spirit, from the day they arrived at the farm, there to greet them in the dark shadows of a doorway, one cast as the figment from another dimension. If people having interacted with spirits for as long as we have written history doesn't count as evidence, I think the scoffers are not being honest with themselves. I didn't like how the author would bounce back and forth between time, like for instance she'd be talking about some occurrence that happened when the family just moved into the house, then the very next chapter it's about some other thing that happened 8 years after moving in. Had life become so intolerable to a beleaguered old soul, the drastic measure appeared to be her only option for retreat?Having considered it, I have to admit that tighter writing wouldn't cover the subject matter in the same depth, and showed the development of the lessons they took from their experiences. Roger and Carolyn Perron purchased the home of their dreams and eventual nightmares in December of 1970. It seems like the family was already very troubled before they ever moved to the allegedly haunted house since according to this account their cat had been "brutalized" at their previous home and their kitten murdered by a neighbor, their home broken into etc. One floated one of the girls safely down the stairs when she'd fallen, didn't touch treads or walls all the way down and even around a corner. The events in the book were fairly creepy, however, this book was so weirdly written that it turned me off to reading it.

Given the vast majority of the "incidents" described, most are fairly normal for an old house: doors opening and closing themselves, objects appearing and disappearing, moving around, things levitating, clocks stopping, phone ringing when unplugged, pets not wanting to go in, or seeming to react to something unseen by their owners, smells and cold that come and go, hearing footsteps, sensing and seeing presences. Then she made matters worse by self-publishing it with a money-greedy publishing house who wouldn't know a good bit of editing if a real editor bit them on the ass.I truly feel the Perron family were blessed with the gift of enlightenment and were meant to share this! Time suddenly became irrelevant, fractured by spirits making their presence known then dispersing into the ether.
