About this deal

The result was the controversial and sensuous romance Fifty Shades of Grey and its two sequels, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed . I always thought of him as the alpha, who was in control, but really, it was Ana that had all the control. But even if it were scaled down and Christian’s success moderated, the dynamics between him and Anastasia would still make for a great story.

You find a little bit out about a few of the other 15 as well which is interesting as I certainly wondered what had happened or why they had parted. Well, they may not be doing what two lovers do in the most conventional of places but that is neither here nor there as they are hot, hot, scorching hot and I can't remember getting my knickers in such a twist in FSOG? Conchita, who seems to know what she is doing, goes down on her hands and knees and manages to coax him out, using a saucer of milk and an old copy of Hustler.

Reading it would be a waste and really only will accomplish giving you a platform to pronounce your hate of the story. As readers, we wanted to know why Christian fell in love with Ana and what made him pursue her as he did. But when the top dozen Goodreads reviews are all, "Hell NO, we won't read this crap, and we'll be (not so) silently judging anyone who does," well . Evidently this is intended as an homage to Midnight Sun, which given the roots of the Fifty Shades series is entirely appropriate and thematic. We are shown how Christian inwardly questions his feelings for Ana as he is interacting with her, and his surprise that he can’t stop thinking about her, but he does not explore his feelings beyond surface level.

I enjoyed the flashbacks to Christian’s childhood, his relationship with Leila and his relationship with Elena. We get to experience Christian's dark days of depression while being apart from Ana, up until just before they meet to attend Jose's art gallery showing together. In this mediocre erotic romance that lacks both passion and intimacy, the events of Fifty Shades of Grey are retold from Christian Grey's perspective, allowing readers to see inside the mind of the enigmatic, domineering businessman as he seduces and falls for college student Anastasia Steele.
