About this deal

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. I've been using a Kangaroo wee-ride, which I've found to be excellent - far more stable than some rear-mounted seats I've tried, as the C of G stays central. They may think they are helping by applying the brakes at a junction, but not being able to pull away as you’d intended could cause problems! The coupling weighs 10 pounds, just for the parts that detach from the bikes, and the parts that stay on my bike are at least another 5 pounds, though I didn't weigh them before installation (and the last time I removed them, it look a hammer because of all the rust; see below). Dès le moment où on comprend comment la rigidité de l’ensemble est assurée, le réglage est hyper simple.

Next, I love the fact that I can safely navigate and ride on roads with my son being attached to my bike. it hardly feels like you have them behind you – when they wobble it hardly impacts you – and for a general cyclist it just doesn’t feel like you have a child attached. I had a Trailgator and the comments about setup are spot on, it’s tricky to get bob on, scrapes the bike headtube (which didn’t worry me too much as it had 3 boys to go through, resale of 0) and It’s worth mentioning that the standard FollowMe Tandem comes with a hub adaptor for the child’s bike with a bolt on axle.International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions. The initial installation takes a bit of work: replacement of the axle nuts or quick release skewers is needed on both bikes, a bracket placed onto the bike’s down-tube and the frame adjusted to the size of the child’s bike. This gives him a chance to ride solo on safer sections of the route, but also to use his bike at our destinations – this was very important to us: previously his balance bike often travelled with us strapped to the parcel rack. To sum it up: AFAIK, it's the only available solution if you want to be able to pull your kid along, whilst retaining the option to have your child cycle on his/her own. You can bend it to accomodate different axle-length - somehow the bike of my wife is wider than mine, the trailer works on both, on one it is very easy to slip the trailer onto the axle, on the other bike it is very hard.

I’m always intrigued by how pullalong items react when cornering and I’m pleased to report that the FollowMe Tandem has a very fluid motion in the bends, with no slewing or jarring felt by me up front. As well as attaching a new child’s bike to the FollowMe Tandem, I’ve also attached it to my Gazelle Heavy Duty NL, so I’m able to tow our youngest instead of my other half. It's very heavy - an aluminium version would help solve this and the unsightly rust - ours too has gone rusty in places. The FollowMe Tandem Coupling attaches to the rear axle of the adult's bike, so there is no problem putting a child seat on the rear rack. It allows to attach or detach your child’s bicycle in less than 30 seconds, deploying or retracting itself behind your bicycle. Attached to the seat post (or a rack) of the adult bike with a telescoping arm, any movements made by the child cause both the child and adult to wobble.

So my heart sank when I read your comments about problems with disc brakes - my disc brakes work well, but I sometimes curse their inconvenience when it comes to other fittings. As part of the test we also tried a Blackburn rack, that is pretty much industry standard, and found that although tight, it did fit.FollowMe Tandem, standard FollowMe quick release skewer, hook up strap including carabiner, frame clamp for child’s bike, 3 sizes of solid axle nuts for child’s bike. The FollowMe stows neatly away on the adult bike, so you and your child can ride in tandem or independently. I have seen people riding with tow bars where the parent’s bike would tilt to the left and the kid’s bike tilt to the right at the same time! To sum this up, let’s take a look at the pros and cons of a FollowMe so you can decide for yourself if it worth the investment. In the end, we bought a second packages, as I got tired to change manually when our smaller or bigger child wanted to be pulled, and we have one of both parent's bike when we go out.
