About this deal

The long, glass-topped boats of the bateau mouches below the Pont de l”alma opposite rose and fell gently on the wash. While the book wasn't a classic it did manage to set the scene for the series and introduce the major characters. As they move closer to the truth of what happened to Gaillard, the investigators' own security is threatened, as it becomes clear that someone does not want them to solve the case. This is a well mapped-out and fascinating mystery involving a series of trunks holding various obscure clues that Enzo must put together to lead him to the next trunk of clues. If a refund or reimbursement is payable to you, we will transfer the money using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase.

If there is a downside, it is the annoying characters – women falling over themselves for a glimpse up Enzo’s figurative kilt, the two daughters from different marriages, the manipulative Charlotte, one-time lover of Roger Raffin - my favourite character out of a sad bunch. There is a lot by way of coincidence, with things being stretched too far at times, yet you are pulled in.fb, μπορώ να θυμηθώ την κολλητή μου να πηγαίνει στη Βενετία κι εμείς επειδή δεν είχαμε χρήματα, την εξερευνήσαμε με το google. Half-Scottish, half-Italian Enzo MacLeod used to be one of the top forensics experts in Scotland, and now he lives in Toulouse, working as a university professor. When he discovers the head of Gaillard buried with objects that provide clues for finding the rest of him, Macleod is led on a merry chase all over Paris, including the catacombs. Deep in the catacombs below the city, he unearths dark clues deliberately set - and as he draws closer to the killer, discovers that he is to be the next victim. These clues are in the form of physical riddles left by the killer for reasons which do not become clear until the crime is solved.

I have enjoyed reading all of the Peter May books that I have read so far; in particular The Lewis triology series. They could see distant twinkling pockets of streetlights, a church floodlit on the far horizon, the river Cère a thin, meandering band of silver far below. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Extraordinary People (also published as Dry Bones), an adventure-thriller set in various beguiling locations around France. I had previously read his series based in China where I learnt so much about the culture as well as enjoying the series. Killers from the past will stop at nothing to halt Enzo, who must use all his forensic skills to solve the case - before they succeed.

I found it to be an enjoyable read as long as you do not dig too deeply into it and I will be reading book 2. MEET ENZO MACLEOD, AND BEGIN THE ADDICTIVE COLD-CASE SERIES FROM THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE LEWIS TRILOGY AND COFFIN ROAD. Enzo Macleod has for years been teaching biology at the university in Toulouse instead of pursuing his brilliant career as a forensic pathologist in Scotland. Entry Island was an interesting read, and whilst not up to the standard of the Lewis Trilogy it was still an enjoyable four stars. He grew up in Scotland, son of an Italian mother and a Scottish father and had a successful career as a Forensic Scientist with a wife and young daughter. And in his pursuit of truth, the depths of deceit threaten to consume Enzo - and that which he cherishes most. If you fail to comply with this obligation, we may have a right of action against you for compensation. Fortunately, I worked out at a later date that I’d fallen for a trap… yet that does not remove the fact that I fell for it. There is a legend that Bonaparte was advised to marry Josephine and adopt her two children, because they were supposed to be Merovingian lineage – descendants of Christ.

He flees along the north ambulatory; past the chapel of St Paul, the chapel of St Joseph and the Souls in Purgatory.Despite Enzo’s forensic background, most of the detective work appears to be done by means of Google, rather than any scientific means, notwithstanding his successful attempt to quite literally get blood out of a stone. The plot itself veers uncomfortably close to being overly contrived at times, a standard hallmark of anything that seems to involve solving clues and following a trail, but thankfully, Extraordinary People never entirely jumps the shark.
