About this deal

People always say Concrete smells more like a sandalwoody Coca-Cola, which I agree, but I get the same galbanum-mastic gum kind of note there too.

It smells of summer, the freshness we need on hot days, it smells of blood orange, Sicilian lemon, juniper berries, sage amber, geranium, lavender, allspice, cedar wood, vetiver and patchouli. Paired here with blood orange and pimento it ramps up the spice while adding a fruity citrus quality to it as well. Inspired by the earthy, rugged landscape of Tuscany, this is the intense, fascinating version that unfolds a peppery enchanting heart and a stronger woody base. There's a certain light sweetness that almost reminds me of cotton candy, but it's still quite floral and aromatic. The base welcomes more wood notes than the Eau de Toilette, and the lasting impression is handsome, grown-up, and confident. Now as my nose has been familiarizing more scents in the fragrance world, I see where it does stand. Have to admit that when i sprayed it on, I was sure I was going to be able to dismiss this as "meh", but then the mid kicked in and that spicy, cedar-vetiver combo presented a slightly different take on blue for me.

I get a lot of fragrance samples for myself and my sons, and this was my favourite of all the men's new releases up to August this year, when I bought it for my younger's birthday. But after so many years of boring, boring, Libre, boring, Idole, boring, white flowers, bla, bla, bla, I turned my head when I smelled this one.

This is its own fragrance but there’s an Aventus vibe/Atelier Cologne Musk Imperial thing going own which is appearing due to the juniper berries that make it tonic like, the woods with the cedar the fig and citrus notes at the top. The EDT overall fragrance isn't groundbreaking, but it is a pleasant, clean, slightly herbal fragrance. Respecting a crisp opening the scent carries a sharp accord of citrus, blood orange, lemon and juniper berries.

The citruses are a significant part of the opening notes, their combination comes across as just citruses, slightly sweet, not too sour, but without accent to any of the specific citrus notes included in the fragrance. I think it’s the Juniper Berry and Clary Sage that are mainly playing on my olfactory sense in combination with the citruses and woody notes, and those are more mature smells as we know.Same recently with Al Wataniah's Sultan Al Lail, which has all this fragrance's unlikability and none of the good parts. For example, some top note citrus scents smell stronger immediately upon application, while a lavender middle note may be sensed after some time from application as the top note evaporates. It is not a bad fragrance, it is modern and no too "generic" but I feel that something is missing to be a breakthrough fragrance. To me, "K" smells nothing like those, and if you have to compare it to anything, it belongs more in the 'green' family of colognes . To truly make this a more intense fragrance, spice from all angles is infused into this perfume, magnified with hints of cardamom and pimento essence.

Then comes the sensuality of cedarwood, blended with two elegant and masculine ingredients: green vetiver and patchouli. Anyway, I think I like EDT a little more than EDP, which I consider an EDT with a fig leaf and a hint of coconut milk note, and a little more longevity. However, because of it's mass appealing nature, I feel that it's more of a generic smell that I'm sure I've smelled quite a few times before. If you ever smelled galbanum, it has this sharp green, but also unripe pineapple-ish juicy note that dries down to a mastic gum/resin note. It's one of the most beautiful male fragrances to me, and the usual aromatic woody you see on so many Fragrantica main accords descriptions doesn't do it any justice.

This is a fragrance that, despite initial impressions, has the potential to leave you pleasantly surprised and thoroughly impressed.
