The bell-shaped guard is still too narrow to allow ice cubes to easily reach the blades, so it's still not suitable for making a batch of crushed ice. I will be using the blender for blending homemade soups, chopping onions – basic things like that but keen to try a recipe where I’ve got to blend frozen blueberries and frozen bananas which are amazingly hard! We made a very large batch of pea soup and distributed this evenly amongst the blenders, using the blending cup that came included with each. This immersion blender has everything you could possibly hope for, and a few extras you probably won't get much use out of unless you're a very eager home chef. After a few minutes studying the instructions we unlocked the blender using the various buttons – this was a bit annoying, and if you stop pressing the blend buttons continuously it requires unlocking again, which is even more annoying, but better safe than sorry we guess.
