This exotic herb balances the citrus notes of our gin with a warm herbal earthiness and gives the gin its distinctive natural royal blue colour.

When I add an ice-cube, the strong flavours are muted; but the spiciness of cardamom (tastes like ginger) continues unabated. Six Dogs Blue embodies the invigorating spirit of a classic dry gin while introducing an unprecedented combination of two infusions: the earthy essence of Blue Pea, reminiscent of freshly cut grass, and the refreshing lightness with hints of rose offered by the Rose Pelargonium. A long held ambition to launch their own gin, Shirley and Duncan Morrison purchased a small thirty litre still and began testing and developing recipes using various botanicals, slowly fine tuning what would eventually become their signature Scottish Gin expression.Ready To Drink (RTD) are now available, which are 5cl’s worth of Cornish Blue Flamingo mixed with our Premium Tonic. Distilled in Austria using local wheat, this big and bold gin is made using 27 different botanicals including hops, almonds, chamomile and clove. This started the wheels in motion and whilst out walking their dog and discussing potential botanicals they realised the answer was literally all around them – the Stirlingshire nettle. The product was first test marketed in Spain, and was then launched in limited quantities internationally in 2012.

Their gin is triple distilled (from English grain in London, England) on a traditional pot still in small batches.

Fun fact: The blue pea flower reflects the pH (acidity or alkalinity) of the mix and, as tonic is more acidic, the colour will change to a light pink when it’s added to the gin. Rock Gin is the result of our quest to uncover the true Spirit of Cornwall developed in our minds from many hours relaxing on Rock beach.
