This book is incredible from start to finish, the photos are beautiful and nostalgic, the recipes are easy to follow and so rewarding and the one thing I didn’t know I was getting with this book was the COMEDY! He began his foodie journey in 2017, when he switched from life-long vegetarian to a completely vegan diet. So many cuisines are represented and there are some dishes that I loved pre vegan that I haven’t had since seeing the light. You will be laughing out loud and chuckling away to yourself and if you follow Richard aka SchoolNightVegan (his superhero name) you will be reading it hearing his voice and flare. What I didn't expect was to receive a book not just full of fantastic vegan recipes, but a truly heartwarming story book that made me snort-laugh one minute, then made me all weepy-eyed the next.The author also assumes we can all find certain processed food items but we really can't here in northern ontario.

I was a bit worried that this book would be full of the sort of vegan recipes that feel like science experiments, mixing up loads of expensive ingredients to try and imitate something else. You'll learn to make delicious meat alternatives and proper, grateable vegan cheeses, and find out just how versatile tofu can be. If there wasn’t pictures of this legend sporting his socks and sandals in this book you’d still know this was his book from the way it’s written. The recipes are genius, easy to follow, and allow for substitutions (which is helpful when you're a Canadian vegan living in Poland).

This book shows just how exciting vegan cooking can be, and you'll soon wonder how you ever coped without it.
