For a very attractive price point of AED 299, the JBL Wave 300TWS offers a compact design, good build quality, easy pairing, very good sound quality and is very intuitive to use. Definitely go for it, if you are in the market for a budget-friendly pair of wireless earbuds that offer very good audio performance. Additionally, it boasts a versatile multi-function rotary dial for volume control and a customisable media button, which can be tailored to your preferences using the iCUE software. Similar to its K70 series counterparts, the K70 CORE comes with per-key RGB lighting. In terms of the design, it sports a more compact footprint as it has been streamlined around the keys, resulting in a sleek and minimalist appearance. The keyboard also comes with a durable aluminium top plate featuring a plastic casing on the bottom. You can also perform other functions like locating your earbuds, switching on Ambient Aware and TalkThru modes, and reading instructions on how to operate the headset. It’s actually quite a good app when it works for more than two minutes at a time. Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. See how we test.

The JBL Headphones app for Android and iOS adds another layer of functionality. There’s a 10-band EQ with various presets that can be adjusted, or you can simply create your own, or disable all EQ. You can also use Ambient Aware or TalkThru modes in the app by tapping icons on the screen, and you can customize swipe-based gestures on the earpieces to either enable/disable these modes (or disable the swipe gesture if you wish). In TalkThru mode, you hear your surroundings through the ambient mics and music volume is lowered significantly; in Ambient Aware mode, the mics are enabled but music volume remain the same. Athletes should get these for they secure tightly to the ear via a concha wing tip and have an IPX5 rating. It enables to command the earbuds to optimize Bluetooth setting for either music mode or video, providing 3 different options. “Normal” is to enhance stable connection even in busy area while “Music mode” is to experience the best sound quality and “Video mode” to get the best lip-syncing when watching or gaming with lowered latency by 100ms. We cue up Eric Guy’s 2019 album Egotrip on Tidal, and the gentle high hat patter and pensive saxophone at the beginning of Across The Channel is presented with a fair amount of space around each instrument.

Yes. By using the JBL Headphones App you can change the equalization settings of the headphone to fit your personal taste. You can adjust the setting of each frequency to create your own personalized EQ. Opening the charging case reveals the wireless earbuds, which are very good in design and build quality. The charging case and the earbuds though are quite lightweight. On the rear of the charging case is where you will find the USB-C port. We have a far easier time with Google Assistant, which is up and assisting long before Alexa joins the party. When chosen and paired (you have to select either Alexa or Google in the JBL Headphones app, you can’t have both helping simultaneously) Google happily answers our questions about Bake Off and the UK singles charts as we tap the left bud. The earbuds stay connected to my phone thanks to the Bluetooth 5.0 firmware, though there are some intermittent connection hiccups that happen inside and outside. You can listen in mono mode, but only with the right bud as that’s the default primary receiver, which doesn’t take into account those with left ear hearing impairments. These hiccups occur with firmware version 3.3.0, so later versions may have remedied this. Connecting the earbuds to your smartphone is quite straightforward – open the charging case, remove both earbuds and they will immediately get into pairing mode. Look for “JBL WAVE300TWS” in the Bluetooth section of your smartphone and tap on it to connect.

The JBL WAVE 300TWS earbuds come certified with the IPX2 rating. This is unusually low for earbuds because this rating does not offer a good amount of protection from either sweat or water. Yes, the JBL LIVE 300 TWS is a fine headset for phone calls as it supports stereo call audio. While many people enjoy this feature, I find it distracting: the left earbud is just milliseconds behind the right earbud when relaying call audio, making it sound like an echo is present. Perhaps if the headset designated both earbuds as their own respective receivers, I’d enjoy this feature more. However, I typically use mono mode when about to make a call. They sound good, but everything under the sun sets these off. A drop of sweat, a drop of rain, a slight breeze past your year and one of more of the gestures are triggered, but when you actually want to use a gesture, nothing!. Your constantly interrupted by Bixby (also the the worst thing ever made, yes I know that's 2 worst things). There is no way to turn the gestures off. These are completely useless!
