About this deal
The InWin Development IW-MS04-01-S265 little tower case is ideal for barebones NAS servers. It can build a robust, efficient personal NAS while taking up minimal desk space, making it incredibly efficient for the purpose. I’m wondering if it’s the right size for a basic NAS enclosure, neither too huge nor too small, similar to our dedicated smallest ATX cases, which offer ATX motherboard compatibility in a small footprint. Fractal Design Node 804 ( specs): Is a bit larger but also supports Micro ATX motherboards, which opens up a whole new form factor of potential motherboards to consider. It has internal 8 x 3.5” HDD bays, 2 x 2.5” HDD bays, and it’s very price competitive, which makes it a very attractive option to consider.

The fans utilized are 3-pin units. We would have preferred here if the fans were 4-pin PWM units which allows easier control of the fan speed. In 2019, virtually every motherboard that one would use in this chassis has 4-pin fan headers.PCIe Gen 4 x16 Upgrade Slot for 10/25/100GbE Cards and 2x PCIe Gen 4 x4 M.2 NVMe Slots for 7GB SSDs Build a Mini-ITX NAS RAID Server with Enterprise SAS Hard Drives Build a Mini-ITX NAS RAID Server with Enterprise SAS Hard Drives The PRIME H610I- PLUS D4- CSM motherboard is perfect for a home NAS server. I know this is an older guide, but I'm looking into using it for a simple system I'm building, and was wondering if the Silverstone DS380 is still a good case for doing this? Thanks for all you do for all NAS pros, enthusiasts, and hobbyists out there. QQ for you. How come the TVS h1288 dropped off from your 8 bay list from last year? Are you recommending the TVS h874 over it? Thanks again!! Most of what I do as a Mac Consultant is Synology Server support. But I’m totally terrified of this alerts on my own Synology Servers and my clients servers too.
