About this deal

It’s possible I’m not necessarily the target audience for this one as I’m a bit long in the tooth for the Insta Influencer malarkey but that being said, I didn’t half enjoy it! Whilst it makes good points about Male ‘entitlement’ it doesn’t do so in a preachy way, it actually makes more of an impact via the darkly funny, ironic even sarcastic tone the author strikes. Despite her many flaws (apart from the killing obviously) I do like Kitty and her self deprecating tone. She’s intriguing with a great mix of personality traits in a bit of a Villanelle kind of a way. You can totally see too, the influence of Made in Chelsea with some of her friends - I rather enjoy that too!

There's also the fact that she pretends to "save" women from the men to justify her murders, but she's also condescending towards basically every woman she encounters. Why bother "helping" women if you can't stand any of them. huge disappointment considering this was my biggest anticipated read for may. I don’t remember a single thing about this book besides how bad the ending was. Talk about you can't judge a book by its cover, I love the cover but I came in thinking this might be just a silly read like Finlay Donovan is killing it. However it is not but I do love that it isn't. It stands independently on its own. No one flinches when women get murdered by men in fiction, but I have a hunch some people could get worked up about this book. Because the author has turned the tables on us and on society. It's not just women who have to watch their step in Kitty's London, men better be careful too. Not something that the patriarchy is used to and it may cause a bit of a snit. Kitty Collins is probably the most unstable female protagonist I’ve ever encountered. She’s a pretty kitty with claws and a lust for blood. You’ll need to read the book to understand her and her reasoning – because I’m not giving away any of her secrets. I did, however, find her choices debatably questionable -- criminal -- and probably insane.Brent said: “ How To Kill Men has been my passion project for the past two years and kept me sane(ish) during the now infamous Unprecedented Times. I’m so excited that Kitty Collins – and I – have found a home with HQ. I can’t wait for everyone to meet her.”

are you telling me there are no working CCTV in the fancy schmancy places this rich broad is hanging out at?I must admit, I was immediately drawn to this book because of the title. Yeah, I know that’s a stupid reason to read a book, however, after reading the really brief book summary, I highly suspected that the story would be in the dark humor genre, but it was more like a tragicomedy, a term I recently came across. Has anyone else come across this term before? While it may sound like “dark humor”, it’s really not; there are subtle differences between the two. A really thought provoking read that had so many elements and so many layers to it. It was so gripping too I finished it within a couple of days.' NetGalley reviewer,

Kitty is also a vegan. Her being vegan itself obviously wasn't what bothered me, what bothered me was the fact that she makes vegans look like arseholes. She's one of the militant ones, you probably know the kind. I suppose the author was going for some kind of irony here. Like, she's vegan because she doesn't want animals to be killed (every time milk or other animal products are consumed within her vicinity she gets grossed out) but killing men is fine somehow…? I felt like the ending was so terrible. I was going to rate this book a generous 3.75 out of 5 but after that ending I physically can not give it anything over a 3 starsI debated on whether or not to even approach reviewing "How to Kill Men and Get Away With It," but dang it, that cover and title hooked me and then I spent a day and a half of my time plodding through to the end. I hate being a meanie -- especially when it involves a debuting author. But -- sometimes it just needs to be said. She goes about justifying the crimes she performs and gets away with it, partly because she is a famous influencer and nobody would look at her twice. Though even a half-decent police officer could have found a common denomination as she was present at all events related to the crime. The Top 25 Christmas Cookbooks for 2023: A Smorgasbord of Inspiration for a Happy Foodie This Christmas Many thanks to NetGalley and HQ Digital for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions. How did you feel after Kitty’s first murder? Do you blame her for fleeing the scene? Why does she go to the funeral? What does that reveal about her?

Let’s start with how this book is very very graphic, right from the prologue. It has gory details. It’s gruesome, and these scenes do come every few chapters. So much so that it can be safely said that How to Kill Men and Get Away with It is definitely not for the weak-hearted. One sentence review: It had all the right ingredients but the proverbial baking soda was expired so this did not rise to expectationsIf you're a fan of the 'Sweet Pea' series or 'Killing Eve', this book is for you. Engaging, addictive and thought-provoking, this read has it all!' NetGalley reviewer, Eat, Drink, and Be Merry: The Ultimate Guide to Celebrating Christmas with the Best Drinks Books On The Shelves
