About this deal
It’s a book for fans, as a non-fan is not likely to read 400 pages with hyper-details (exact dates, times, number of album units sold not rounded up) that distracted often from the narrative. I couldn't be glad in the moments I was supposed to be glad, and I couldn’t be happy in the moments I was supposed to be happy.
I had always been very shy and introverted, but my social anxiety and my constant need to isolate myself from everything and everyone around me reached an utterly concerning level, to the point where I would literally stay locked up inside my room for 2 weeks straight without even trying. But also, this isn't a book of 'stories that go beyond what you already know about BTS' either, which is a phrase directly from the back cover. Or I may have appreciated this better if I hadn’t already consumed 10 hours of Bangtan content every day for 3 months, at the peak of my fanhood. I'm so grateful they're in my life and I'm so grateful for the comfort and the happiness they've brought to my super mundane, miserable and lonely days. Nevertheless, will doubtless be taking the book down from my shelf again and again just because it makes me smile.Firstly, am not gonna lie, I thought the book will be more on the individualistic level, an indepth analysis of them as a person.
Its about them as performers, about them as a group and thats why the book refers to members by their stage names; RM instead of Namjoon, V instead of Taehyung, Suga instead of Yoongi etc. This is only a selection of our books so please do contact us directly for any titles not currently showing here. I'm so glad these seven people have each other and as Jimin himself says at the end of the book I'm so glad they are the people they are. The quotes are where this book sometimes finds direction, but still the topics are often left too soon: RM's thoughts on the misogyny scandal, their relationships to the labels 'artist' and 'idol', SUGA's ever-changing relationship to music or the anxiety he mentions multiple times.
Beyond the Story chronicles BTS’s rise to global stardom in seven chapters, starting prior to their musical debut in June 2013 and taking readers through their decade-long journey to today.
