About this deal

David Smith and Gareth Williams, 1980, Fields of Praise: The Official History of The Welsh Rugby Union. Cardiff: University of Wales Press. ISBN 0-7083-0766-3, pp. 40 and 57. This charming market town is well-positioned to explore the surrounding national parks, hiking trails, waterfalls and the breathtaking Welsh landscapes. The town's comprehensive school, Ysgol Pantycelyn, with about 300 pupils, [7] was closed on 31 August 2013 [8] and merged with Ysgol Tre-Gib in Ffairfach to form Ysgol Bro Dinefwr.

Llandovery takes its name from the least significant of all the rivers which encircle it. It once served as an open sewer - no wonder it was called Bawddwr dirty water, or Foulbrook. In 1836 it was put into an arched culvert and the streets paved over. It is an old droving town with a rich history and the pretty market square is surrounded by characterful Georgian buildings, built on the profits of the 19th-century wool trade. The town centre has a large range of shops and craft outlets as well as places to eat and drink or to stay and it’s also flat - making it very accessible to all. It is well worth exploring the streets of our town, you will find that Llandovery still offers a warm welcome to visitors. Superfast broadband has reached Llandovery and is continuously expanding. 4G is widely available and “Town wifi” provides free internet access in the town centre. Why not rent a room from a Llandovery local with Airbnb? There are a plethora of unique accommodationoptions in Llandovery, including yurts, cottages and riverside pods.
