About this deal

Demiurgic Colossus at 14 th level improves Giant’s Havoc (your reach and size increase further), Elemental Cleaver (2d6), and Mighty Impel (you can throw creatures up to Large, which is going to surprise the hell out of your horse). The book includes only one sub-class ( Fizban’s included two, which seems like a bit of miss on WotC’s part) Add giant-themed player character options with 1 new barbarian subclass, The Path of the Giant for use in the D&D Beyond character creator You learn Comprehend Languages and can cast it for free once per day, but the primary appeal here is the runes. You get 1 to 3 runes per day based on your Proficiency Bonus, and each rune lets you temporarily know a single 1st-level spell and cast it once per day for free.

Chapter 3: Giant Adventures: This chapter is also geared towards Dungeon Masters and includes advice and ideas for running giant encounters (including a variety of random tables), as well as how to develop adventures and campaigns focused on giant lore. These are all fine, and this feat has a lot to offer rogues as well as all other weapon-wielders, though fewer rogues will have great Strength or Con scores to build up the save DC.

It would have been nice to group the adventure hooks in the Enclaves chapter and encounter tables with some semblance of CR suggestions, so you can better prepare adventures for your party. This book features 71 new monsters and, as is inevitable with giant-related creatures, the CR is skewed towards the upper end of the spectrum.

As with almost all of the Wizards of the Coast D&D fifth edition books, the artwork here is incredibly well done. Everything from the layout to the interior art is beautifully put together and really captures what makes giants so cool. While controversy around AI generated artwork is starting to appear in the RPG industry, the artists WotC employees on projects like Glory of the Giants show that there’s definitely something to be said about the human touch. So it’s about getting real big, then going absolutely elemental on your enemies. Why should Rune Knights have all the giant-themed warrior fun? (And Rune Knights do indeed have a lot of fun.)

Big Character Options, Big Adventures

In August 2022, Wizards of the Coast held their annual Wizards Presents event. During that time Wizard unveiled a number of upcoming Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition books, with the first book being the heist-themed adventure anthology Keys to the Golden Vault, followed by the player-focused supplement The Book of Many Things, the updated and expanded Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk, and Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse . RPGBOT uses the color coding scheme which has become common among Pathfinder build handbooks, which is simple to understand and easy to read at a glance. Currently, Wizards of the Coast has two different versions of the book: a standard cover and a special edition cover. The two different covers to Keys from the Golden Vault Giant’s Power teaches you to speak, read, and write Giant, and you learn either druidcraft or thaumaturgy. To be expected, sure. The only issue I see with most of this information is giants will have to be a huge part of your campaign for you to start worrying about how many giants live together in a settlement versus a steading.

It is said that when the giants fell from glory, their god, Annam, abandoned his children and would not return until they reestablished an empire fit for their station. Encounter over 70 new monsters and other enormous creatures to face in the D&D Beyond Encounter Builder.

Chapter 2: Giants in Play: This chapter will feature a section on roleplaying giants and expand the lore around giant society, religion and the pantheon of gods (known as the Ordning). Chapter 5: Giant Treasures: This chapter is for DMs only and details unique giant-themed treasures. This includes a section on “Giant Bags” (with tables to determine the contents of a giant’s bag), the “Relics of Giant Realms” (detailing valuable treasures from ancient giant civilizations) and “Magic Items” (with 27 magic items associated with giants). As the name implies, Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants is a DnD book entirely dedicated to giants. It provides a detailed look at Giant society, from the mightiest DnD gods to the mundane things you’d find in a Giant’s bag. This also includes some (limited) player options and a wealth of encounter features for DMs – all in line with the book’s gargantuan theme. Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giantsis a game supplement for Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition that’s designed to fully flesh out the world of giants. In terms of the overall structure, tone and materials, the book follows a similar format to Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons, the 2021 publication that provided players and Dungeon Masters with new races, spells, magic items and adventure hooks inspired by the world of dragons.

There are also dozens of additional types of giants that have appeared over the years. Most notably, many of these types of giants were front and center as the primary antagonists in the 2016 campaign book The Storm King’s Thunder. So is Glory of the Giants a genuine dose of fee-fi-fo-fun or is it a gargantuan flop? Read our review to find out. (Full disclosure: we received both a physical and digital copy of the book from Wizards of the Coast for the purposes of this review). Table of Contents Chapter 5: Giant Treasures: This chapter details 30 unique magic items inspired by the world of giants, including three new artifacts, one of which is associated with the giant god Annam, one of which is associated with Diancastra and Bigby’s Beneficent Bracelet. What if an ice giant succumbed to the power of an Elemental Evil? What if they devoted themselves to a demon lord? What if they mastered rune magic? What would a distant elemental relative of an ice giant be like? I quite liked all these cycles as it gives you a lot of choices to work with when you want to include a specific type of giant in your campaign. Unfortunately, these well-designed and thought-out locations are somewhat marred by the fact that the “adventure” suggestions in each location don’t have any ties to CR, which will make these resources difficult to use for newer DMs who rely on that level of guidance. Magic Items

Is that an earthquake? Or are massive footsteps approaching? Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giantsbrings a vast library of giant lore and character options to your game! from you in a straight, horizontal line. But that’s not what they wrote. “pushed 10 feet directly away from you” was right there.• Storm Strike: It’s on a Constitution Storm Giants. The most powerful of the giant subspecies, storm giants prefer to view the happenings of the world and omens from the sky from their lofty fortresses. While giant foundlings are said to grow abnormally large for their species, this isn’t reflected in a change to your creature size.
