About this deal

Her book holds real value for any reader. We Should All Be Millionaires: A Woman’s Guide to Earning More, Building Wealth, and Gaining Economic Power delivers its punch through a blend of humor and straight talk, mindset work, and seriously practical advice. This book, however, reeled me in close. I finished the entire audiobook in two days! I'm not a woman, so some of the content didn't apply to me directly, but the advice in this book felt genuine and applicable regardless. Usually, I feel alienated by "change your mindset and make more money" books, the ones overwhelmingly written by white people that are so out of touch that they genuinely think that with a power pose and some thriftiness, anyone can be rich and powerful! While Rodgers does have this message, she doesn't shy away from the reality of oppression that affects women, BIPOC, and queer people. Now, before I go, I just have one more scary, vulnerable story that I want to share with you, because apparently, I'm a glutton for punishment. So, earlier this year, in January, I was hosting a retreat in California. I flew from my home in North Carolina to California to host my VIP clients. Okay? These are like my clients that are in my one offer, my Mastermind. Move your body. Any way you want. Take a walk. Have a dance party. Attend a yoga class. Ride a bike. Whatever feels good to you. And if you're not able to physically move your body, do whatever else makes you happy. Talk to friends and family. Watch your favorite TV show. Read or listen to a good book. Sing at the top of your lungs to your favorite music. Anything that boosts your serotonin and gets those feel-good hormones flowing."

An easy-to-use Guide to my money management system, and instructions on how to spend time proactively reviewing your money every single week. Of course, you're going to have to make some mindset shifts, right? To get there. What got you here is not going to get you there. You're going to have to change your mind. That is the biggest thing that you have to change. You already have the skills, you already have the ability, it's just your mindset, right? And so, maybe it was a relatively small amount of money that could solve that problem for you, but you just didn't have it and you felt vulnerable, and you felt, maybe kind of like I did that day. Maybe you felt a little bit like a loser. We Should All Be Millionaires details a realistic, achievable, step-by-step path to creating the support, confidence, and plan you need to own your success and become the millionaire the world needs you to be.

I’m a diva. Y’all know this. And that means there’s nothing I hate more than answering to old white men. I’ve spent most of my life making sure that doesn’t happen. But I want to share a story with you today about a time when my fate was briefly in the hands of an old white guy. I'm working on becoming a genius at money, and have thus far felt most comfortable getting financial information from women, because, hello. I don't know about you, but I grew up with essentially no financial literacy education and have no evidence that men are particularly interested in women getting better at this. boys get talked to more about making money and investing while girls are talked to about saving money and being careful with it. Lots of sweeping generalizations like “boys get paid more money than girls for doing the same chores at home.”

Does just talking about your financial situation fill you with dread? Many women visibly cringe at just the thought of the subject. Even the notion of becoming financially secure, let alone wealthy, can seem like an impossible dream – something for other people. Rachel is the host of The Hello Seven Podcast and founder of We Should All Be Millionaires: The Club, an online network for professional women. Her forthcoming book, We Should All Be Millionaires from HarperCollins Leadership will be released in Spring 2021. This book was received as an ARC from HarperCollins Leadership in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.An eye-opening history lesson on how women and people of color have been shut out of the ability to build wealth for centuries—and how we can fix this.

I should have listened to my instincts - this was definitely not for me. If you’re worn out by the “look how rich I am, you can too!” life coaches and MLM “CEO” moms, this won’t be your cup of tea either.A more accurate summary would say “advice on taking better care of yourself, make common sense decisions, not running yourself ragged, listening to other people’s stories, and getting mad/depressed over social justicey sh*t all over again.” All of which are FINE subjects, but those books have been written before en masse, and are severely less compelling than what is advertised. I'm not an idiot, I know that reading one book won't make you a millionaire, but this is just another coachey fluff-fest in a whole sea of them, really. And the way that I see this manifest itself the most is with pricing. Mm-hmm. You undercharge – she knows. You undercharge and you over deliver, and it's affecting your earning potential. Right? You thinking that you're not enough. You procrastinate, or you hide, or you don't even try in the first place because you don't want to fail publicly. Why most of the financial advice you've heard in the past (like "skip your daily latte to save money") is absolute, patriarchal nonsense. We Should All Be Millionaires details a realistic, achievable, step-by-step path to creating the support, confidence, and plan you need to own your success and become the millionaire the world needs you to be. And here's the thing. You know, people always say to me, “Well, but I'm a special snowflake. And therefore, only I can do it. No one else can do the magic that I do.” So, in addition to being a special snowflake, you are a trapped snowflake. You are a tired snowflake. You are a miserable snowflake, because you work too much and you're exhausted.
