About this deal

For file compatibility, they do FLAC, MP3, AAC, ALAC, APE and WAV files, up to a high 24-bit/192kHz resolution! On top of that, they also support Apple AirPlay, DLNA, UPnP, Spotify Connect and Qplay. Both are also WiFi-enabled and there’s also a free Apple and Android control app (called 4Stream) available. Also available are LAN and USB inputs (but for pen drives only, not HDDs) as well as Bluetooth connectivity (aptX HD on the S50 Pro). After installing the apps on the relevant smart device and hooking up the Arylics to the audio component(s) of choice, the only small hurdle to cross is connecting them to the home network. There are a few easy ways to do this, and all are explained in the manual. Your receiver then outputs the sound to your passive speakers and you can play music wirelessly this way with the S10 and the 4STREAM app. Pretty neat! Streaming For PC Arylic S10 is full of useful features and I’m not going to even try to cover all of these in detail since it would take forever. I’ll mention the most important ones and how they worked during the test instead.

It can be a pain to set up in general and your phone may be spending quite a bit of time actually searching for the unit. So once it’s finally set up, I’d probably just not mess with it much. If I want to send music from my phone to my Passive Speakers, it already has a built-in Bluetooth option for that.you can use it to stream music from your favorite apps such as Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, etc. while also controlling the volume from the app on your phone. when attempting to switch to Bluetooth from Wi-Fi, it’s a real pain and doesn’t want to cooperate very much. Do keep in mind that these services are available through the app; they don’t have anything to do with the unit itself. Errs towards being very bright which can become fatiguing. Very basic onboard EQ can mitigate this to an extent, but it’s not a perfect scenario

The Pro V3 board has two siblings. The simplified version saved from not having audio in, USB in, and Ethernet connectivity, I2S output is retained so audio quality upgrade path is still there, and this can be a better choice for speaker build. The more elaborated version includes optical/digital port and an upgraded DAC, which can be a better choice for a streaming amp build. Both will be tested in the near future. Here’s the bottom line on this little streamer with regards to sound quality; it’s not going to wow you with its sonic attributes but nor is it going to offend you overly if you play with the very basic onboard EQ settings. I wouldn’t choose it as my day to day streamer in our main system as it’s simply outclassed by the other equipment and they highlight it shortcomings, but with something like the Acoustic Energy AE1 Actives (a very good speaker system in its own right) I think you’d be hard pushed to find too much fault in it – with the caveats that I’ve mentioned. I couldn’t afford the bluesound but I could afford this and I’m over the moon. It’s worth a try at that price especially when you can use it elsewhere in your house to access your music. I had device issues from the very start. I had stereo sound issues which turned out to be due to the application. A complete remove and re-install helped resolve this. But I also had major hissing and noise on both the speakers, but more prominently on the right channel. I ruled out other system components by actual testing other devices; it was the S10.

Would you invest in the S10? What kind of system are you running currently? I would love to hear your thoughts. Until next time…

once the app is opened, use the browse tab (represented by a small musical icon) and scroll down to the bottom. Find the perfect sound for each channel with EQ, Bass Enhancement, Advanced DSP Effects, Gain, Pregain and more.. S10 is able to decide FLAC, Mp3, AAc, ALAC, APE and WAV, and up to 24bit / 192kHz signals, weighing in about 200 grams. The remote works pretty nicely, and you will need to use the 4 Stream app with it. I found the app to be pretty awful for me, since it is slow, and the UI is cluttered with useless options, pretty complicated to get what you need it to do, but also fairly bug-free compared to the majority of APPs for Streamers. Setting S10 up takes about 20 minutes and once it is set up, everything works fairly well.

like for example it has a webserver with a nice interface that sometimes does not update. (eg. eq settings) Add Wireless Capability To Your Home Audio System: Add WiFi, Direct Streaming, Airplay, Spotify Connect and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless capability to your amplifiers, preamps and receivers Plugged into my main hi-fi rig, it gives hints of what the system is able to achieve. No, it did not achieve the synergy I’m used to hearing with the regular preamp, but it would be unfair to compare the S50 Pro with something multiple times its price. However, the biggest advantage is that streaming music using a direct connection to the Internet (Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, etc.) sounds vastly superior to a Bluetooth connection from a mobile device – this applies to the S50 Pro as well, of course. Arylic S10 vs Triangle AIO Connect (79 USD vs 150 USD) – We have two very different Streamers here today. The biggest difference is that while S10 cannot do any kind of digital output, AIO Connect has a really noisy analogue output and using it via its line out was almost impossible, the noise floor being generally very audible. This is why direct comparisons would be complicated, AIO has the advantage of using an external DAC which may be more potent than S10, but it also has a starting price of double that of S10, where S10 replaces the DAC in a system. I would recommend considering AIO Triangle as a Streamer for more expensive setups, and S10 for entry-level, bedroom, or bedside setups where having a simple DAC with a simple AMP or even active speakers is fun and feasible.
