About this deal

Compatible with all major types of motor oil; specially suitable for 100% synthetic oil. Formulated with full synthetic API SN/CF compliant engine oil to better ensure your oil change is NOT diluted.

This treatment can be added directly to your engine oil, for engines up to 1400cc. It is suitable against friction and heat over successive oil changes, during tough stop-go driving, high temperature and high stress conditions. Features & Benefits: X-1R Friction Eliminator and its clones are based upon very outdated technology, which was abandoned by responsible lubricant manufacturers for automotive transmission uses in the 1950s. Chlorinated compounds still find applications in metal working, but their use is on the decline because of health and safety considerations. Dizzy, what I was trying to say was that the engine was regularly thrashed, and after 104,000 miles it still ran sweet as a nut and used very little oil between services (never needed to top it up). It was only a 1300cc, and had no 5th gear, so when in top gear (4th) the engine was revving higher than a newer model Astra with the 5th gear. I remember driving along the M40 from High Wycombe to Oxford late one night, and driving down the steep hill at one point on the M40, the Astra topped 120mph on the speedo and the revs were almost in the red! This enhanced semi-synthetic engine oil meets API SM/CF requirements to better ensure your oil change is NOT diluted. Yes, the product has been used in many vehicles over many years with hydraulic tappets with no negative effects.Anti-wear agent forms a self-generating protective surface between metal engine parts to prevent metals from grating together. My car has a manual gearbox, but uses Automatic transmission fluid; can I use the Manual Gearbox Treatment? In defense of those additives that still use PTFE, tests done on a Chevy 6 cylinder engine by the University of I asked a chemist recently who had tested many of these products and this was the reply I recieved - scary stuff! The build up of deposits in fuel systems can be a slow growing problem for vehicles. Intake valve and other fuel system deposits can lead to reduced power and performance, poor fuel economy, increased emissions, hesitation, stalling and poor driveability.

Proprietary friction modifier creates enhanced layer of lubrication to minimize heat produced by friction in the engine. How is it then, that adding something out of a can; on the basis of a large can for large engine, and small can for a small engine, and with no change in dosage if you have Sainsbury's cheapest or Mobil1 fully synthetic, possibly be a good idea? The product contains an agent, which will condition seals (thus prolonging seal life) and cause them to swell slightly) thus fixing any minor leaks coming through the seals). It will not fix major seal leaks or any leaks coming through holes caused by puncture or erosion. It is not capable of fixing mechanical malfunctions. Both Products can be used in any car with beneficial results. However, you will achieve optimum results by using the High Performance treatment in cars using fully or semi synthetic oils, and the Normal treatment in cars using mineral oils.

Disclaimer: I am not an engineer, there's a lot of s t posted on internet forums by people who actually know nothing about the subject.I concur. The Federal Trade Commission have come down hard on additive companies making false advertising claims. I recently started a large thread regarding the fact that I loved my 'shed car' (1997 Polo 1.6), but ever since I got the Polo it has had a little bit of a noisy engine. Slightly 'tappety' and clattery. Instructions: When the fuel tank is nearly empty, pour the entire content of the container into the tank. Refuel with up to 55 litres / 12 gallons of fuel. Repeat application after every 3000 miles (5000 km). It helps to lubricate the power steering pump, reducing wear and friction. It is formulated to protect against power steering leeks and keeps seals in good condition, helping to prevent the need for repairs. Features & Benefits:It is touted as being "a super-suspension of micro-miniature PTFE particles and soluble Molybdenum, permanently suspended in oil." This is around 3 years, however it will be safe to use if older than 3 years old, but may not perform to its full potential.

It's never worried me, and it runs perfectly but it did irritate me slightly when I would be in town and open a window for some fresh air to be greeted by the constant 'tap, tap, tap' from my engine.

In addition, there is some evidence that certain supplies of PTFE powders (from manufacturers other than DuPont) are of a cruder version than the original, made with larger sized flakes that are more likely to "settle out" in your oil or clog up your filters. One fairly good indication that a product contains this kind of PTFE is if the instructions for its use advise you to "shake well before using." It only stands to reason that if the manufacturer knows the solids in his product will settle to the bottom of a container while sitting on a shelf, the same thing is going to happen inside your engine when it is left idle for any period of time. Didn't notice much difference at first but after I had used the car for a couple of hours on a longer run, the tapping and clattering in the engine had considerably reduced to almost nothing. I was quite frankly amazed. When burnt, chlorinated paraffins produce corrosive hydrochloric acid, and organo-chlorine compounds including the highly poisonous phosgene gas. Apart from these corrosion and health hazards, with petrol engines the deactivation of exhaust catalysts is also a problem.
