About this deal

All penalties that apply in stroke play also apply in Par Bogey – except for the following five examples where you won’t be disqualified but you will lose the hole where the breach happened. Triple eagle (4-under par on a hole) – 6 points; double eagle – 5 points; eagle – 4 points; birdie – 3 points; par – 2 points; bogey – 1 point; double bogey or worse – 0 points. Birdie", meaning a score of one stroke under Par, comes from the early 20th century American slang term "bird", meaning anything excellent. The September 1911 edition of Maclean Magazine described a golf shot as - '"bird" straight down the course, about two hundred and fifteen yards.' Note: Bogey, par and Stableford are competitions played under the stroke play format, with each player competing against a fixed score for each hole. The player with the most “wins” during the competition is the winner, as in match play. For course rating purposes, a handicap for a bogey golfer lies somewhere between 17.5 – 22.4 for men and 21.5 to 26.4 for women.

To review, a bogey is a score of one stroke over par for a golf hole. A score that is two strokes over par is called a double bogey and a score three strokes over par is a triple bogey. Basic golf etiquette demands that you wait until the golfers in front of you are completely out of the way before hitting your shot so you don’t hit them with your golf ball. But if you hit a wild shot that flies toward golfers on other holes, bystanders, or spectators, you must yell “fore” loudly to warn them about the incoming ball. Most professional golfers are scratch golfers but not all of them are professionals. What Is a Bogey Golfer’s Handicap?

Holing out from off the green without using your putter. Golden ferrets are for holing out from a bunker and count double. Birdies & EaglesIf it’s the same, the hole is tied. If it’s higher then you lose the hole. If you don’t return a score on a hole, or don’t hole out, you lose the hole. Simple, right? A combination of Betterball and Aggregate (funnily enough). On each hole a point is awarded for the betterball and one awarded for the combined. Good game for mixed handicap groupings and should be played off full difference. High-Low A competitor who breaks Rule 6-3a (Time of Starting) by showing up late, but is on the tee and ready within five minutes of his tee time, is penalized with the loss of one hole on his total. The same applies if a player breaks Rule 6-7 (Undue Delay; Slow Play). The two-time champions have shot only eight goals from gains – the second fewest in the competition. Their opponents on Sunday the Adelaide Thunderbirds lead SSN with 26 goals from gains. Matchplay game for teams of two where both partners drive and they choose the best drive and then play alternate shots for the rest of hole as in foursomes. For handicap matchplay, take the combined greensomes handicaps of both teams (Lower handicap x 0.6 plus higher handicap x 0.4) and the lower pair gives the full difference. Gruesomes

Same format as greensomes, but you choose which ball to play after you and your partner have both played your second shots. American Foursomes Hey there! My name is Steven and I have a passion for sports and staying physically active. I’ve played and watched sports all my life and have coached them as well for the last few years. The marker is responsible for marking only the gross number of strokes at each hole where the competitor’s net score earns one or more points.' Using table values, adjustments, and formulas, the golf rating team calculates a golf course’s course rating (evaluation of the overall difficulty of the golf course under normal conditions for a scratch golfer) and slope rating (an indication of the relative difficulty of a course for players that are not scratch golfers). These are: failing to hole out, failing to correct playing from outside the teeing area, failing to correct playing a wrong ball, and failing to correct a mistake of playing from a wrong place when there is a serious breach. Anything else?Since Bob is the furthest away from the hole he putts first. Bob’s putt rolls gracefully across the green hugging every turn, gently falling into the hole for a bogey 5. Slice: A “slice” is when your golf ball curves severely to your strong side (right side for righties, left side for lefties), tailing or “slicing” away from your intended target. It is one of the most common and frustrating swing faults, usually caused by an outside-in swing. Each hole is worth one 'skin' and whoever wins the hole gets the skin. If no-one wins the hole outright then the 'skin' is carried over so the next hole is worth 2 skins, and so on until someone sinks that pressure putt. Play off scratch or handicap as per singles matchplay. Stableford
