POR-15 Brake Caliper Paint and Full Brake Caliper Kits available from POR-15 are strong enough to withstand the punishment of road debris and temperature extremes. POR-15 Caliper Paint is formulated for high heat performance applications. When properly applied POR-15 Caliper Paint will provide a tough and attractive coating that will satisfy even the most demanding car enthusiast. POR-15 Caliper Paint has excellent coverage properties, 5 brilliant ceramic-like colours, and withstands temperatures up to 500°F. As mentioned above, the amount of time it takes for caliper paint to dry will depend on the manufacturer. This is an important step — the more time you spend preparing the calipers, the better and neater the finish will be. Firstly, take off the front retainer clip and then cover the bleeder valve using masking tape to protect it. Ensure the valve is completely covered. Overlapping the layers of masking tape may help to prevent paint from leaking into the joins. Then, cover the brake hose fittings with tape too. Remove wheels from the vehicle following the manufacturer’s guidelines. Use steel brush to remove loose dirt & rust deposits from the surface to be painted. Use brake parts cleaner to remove all traces of grease, dirt, dust, brake fluid, oil and moisture from surface to be painted. It is not necessary to remove brake calipers or drums prior to painting, although masking-up of brake hoses, bleed screws & other rubber components in the surrounding area is strongly recommended. Open paint and stir thoroughly. It’s important to wait at least 24 hours before you drive the vehicle. If the paint isn’t fully dry, it may not be completely heat resistant. Your car’s brakes get very hot and while dried paint can withstand temperatures of up to 300 degrees, wet paint cannot. Foliatec even says that the full hardening of the paint won’t be complete until up to seven days after it’s applied. When buying partner items like this one, your contract of sale will be with our Range Plus Partner instead of The Range. The E-TECH Brake Caliper Paint is a unique one part paint system that has been specially formulated for brake caliper application. It is easy to apply and has an outstanding high quality long lasting gloss* finish which will enhance your vehicle’s brake calipers and wheel hubs. The paint can be resealed and used at a later date for touch-ups and repairs. The speed rating of a tyre is represented by a letter of the alphabet at the end of the tyre size code and indicates the maximum speed capability of the tyre. Tyres receive a speed rating based on a series of tests which measure the tyres capability to handle a set speed for a prolonged period of time.
