About this deal

It is easy to handle, not heavy and fits anywhere - even next to the driver in the car. You can see that it is sewn from quality material - nothing is ripping anywhere, nothing hangs. And it is just very nice to look at - who wouldn't love a Maclaren, right? :) The Quest is fine for a toddler (we used it from 3 months and it was fine at that age too). It reclines well, has a leg rest that you can extend and is well-made. The only thing the Techno has better than the Quest is the extending hood, which is handy to shelter your child from wind or sun. The Techno XT can cost you more money. If you want the best for your infant, the Maclaren Techno XT is an easy decision. It brings more safety features and comfort for your child. The Winner Is- Maclaren Quest The Maclaren Techno XT is an umbrella stroller designed for infants from birth up to 15 kg. It features a lightweight aluminum frame and four fixed or swivel wheels for easy mobility. The stroller comes with a hood cover and a rain cover. The foldable design makes it convenient for storage and transport and utilizes an umbrella fold style. The stroller has one seat and weighs 7.2 kg. The front and rear wheels are made of premium materials to ensure durability over time.

There is a not-so-easy-to-spot mechanism in the front, looking a bit like a square. You need to push it in and pull the wheel out. Again, it doesn't go totally lightly so be ready to push and pull. Do the wheels come off? I want to take a Mclaren Techno abroad in a duffel. Any suggestions of how I can do this? Folded, it is too long. I had the Quest, but it was looking a bit scruffy (absolutely nothing wrong with it, but any excuse to buy a new pram!) so I bought the Techno when DD was 18 months knowing that I wanted a third child and that sometimes it was going to be easier with a stroller than a big pram. I like a baby in a proper pram, but with 3 kids and all their stuff sometimes there just won't be room in the car boot for it!

Stroller handles should also be comfortable to hold. This holds significance also because it is where you hold when you are pushing and maneuvering. Fortunately, both the handles Quest and Techno XT are comfortable and ergonomic. Well loved single buggy. Swivel wheels. Good breaks. Adjustable height handles. Handles need some covers. I use velcro strap covers which I will include. The seat is shallower than the Quest, I think this must be something to do with the way it reclines almost flat (a bit further than the Quest). I'd say the Quest seat is actually better for a toddler, and there is not much at all in the width (don't confuse it with the Techno XLR which is wider, you can use a carrycot or infant carrier with that one). Parents who want to give the best for their children can get either of the two baby strollers. However, one stands out over the other. In this case, the Maclaren Techno XT is our winner overall. It has increased safety and comfort. Do not count the Quest out, however, because it brings a lot of value for its price.

My ds is 4, and when going out for the day I still take it out and he is a big boy and there is no signs of give in the buggy and he fits very nicely in it. Some mums, skilled in tailoring, put the original hood down and we a new one from a different fabric, replicating the original one. Or they ask a tailor to make that for them, but that costs money. Try and ask around to see how much. I've got both and I have to disagree with the replies above! In my opinion, unless you need the buggy to be suitable from birth then it's not worth paying the extra for the Techno. The fold is not all that smooth anymore either. You don’t get that sort of side to side asymmetrical wear on most modern strollers anymore. A baby’s and will certainly get looser over time. But this looseness isn’t going to make it harder to fold. And that’s an addition to the fact that it’s not going to feel loose horizontally. And even when a Maclaren does fold easily, it’s simply not the most comfortable method of folding, nor the easiest stroller to carry when it’s folded. I’d much rather fold and carry a baby then we’re on the larger end of Baby Jogger City Mini than a Maclaren, especially when what I have to then carry around is as large as a golf bag, and might very well pinch my fingers.

Should You Buy the Maclaren Techno XT?

The Maclaren Techno XT is an umbrella stroller designed for infants and toddlers. With a recommended age minimum of 0 months, it provides a convenient and comfortable way to transport your child. It features a single seat, making it suitable for one child at a time. Lastly, you can try and get a car upholstery spray and spray the faded textiles (after covering everything that shouldn't be sprayed on, like the peek-a-boo window. Google 'upholstery spray paint' or 'fabric spray paint' to see what's available in your country.

With a maximum baby weight capacity of 15 kilograms, this stroller accommodates a range of sizes and ages. It is designed to provide a secure and comfortable environment for your little one, allowing you to confidently navigate your daily activities. Great condition. Hardly used and spent most of the time in the car. Comes from a smoke free and pet free house. One thing could be just live with it and own that you have a pushchair that survived one child, a lot of sun, and still works fine even if faded. It is easy to fold, to store to travel with and it seems as if the babies also love it. The covers are durable, easy to remove for washing, as well as beautiful. We just love the footmuffs. We like to take long walks and now in winter, it is a fantastic accessory to the stroller. I have taken it off completely so think I'll try the washing machine! Never cleaned one before so didn't know what was best! Thank youThen coming from the premise that it’s competition that has been eroding the position of Maclaren strollers, we must ask what it is about the design. The umbrella structure that is the heart of the company itself that seems to have trouble living up to the competitors. Either inherent flaws to the design? And if so, what are they? Well, having repaired several Maclaren’s over the years? I can say definitely that yes, there are flaws to the design. The Maclaren Techno XT is designed for ultimate convenience with durable construction and ease of use. The stroller has four wheels that can either be fixed or swivel for smooth mobility. It can hold up to 15 kg of baby weight and comes with a hood cover to protect from the sun. The design is foldable and uses an umbrella fold style, so it's easy to store and transport. The product is made with an aluminum frame, ensuring strength and stability. The stroller weighs approximately 7.2 kg and includes a rain cover for additional protection.
