About this deal

Let your furniture dry off completely and place it in an area of your garden where the sun can catch it. The sun will ensure that mould and mildew don’t formate. Most oils contain a mixture of tung and linseed oil. They are called teak oils. They provide both moisture and UV protection. Some manufacturers use a proprietary formulation containing wax and other additives. Allow at least 30 minutes before applying a second coat. Apply using the same strokes. Let it dry for approximately 15 minutes and wipe the surface using a piece of cloth. Leave it for about 10 hours. Whatever type of garden furniture oil you choose, make sure it provides moisture and UV protection. Otherwise, it won’t help maintain your furniture in good condition. If it does rain in between coats, you’ll notice the rain appearing as bubbles on the wood – and it doesn’t sink in!! I would recommend RonSeal, and I can’t fault it. 3 coats on a teak bench and the wood with added waterproof qualities. With more intricate designs, it’s easier to apply using a brush rather than a cloth. Pros:

Specification: Protects and nourishes the wood: yes, Can use this on: indoor and outdoor furniture (especially suitable for wooden garden furniture) , Volume: ‎2L A. Teak Oil is a blend of oils and sometimes other chemicals that is used predominantly on garden furniture. As it isn't an 'off the shelf' oil, no two teak oils will be the same; each company will use a slightly different formulation. Teak Oil: This is made with Tung Oil and Boiled Linseed Oil. We use Tung Oil as it provides great water repellence and we use Boiled Linseed Oil as it is really hard wearing. Both oils are naturally very slow driers and so we thin the mixture so it soaks into wood easily, and so that it is really easy to apply. This is no sales scam, it’s a legitimate before and after without any picture editing aids. It’s just a good quality teak oil with dual purpose use. All teak oils may look very similar, but they aren’t all made the same. Different brands use different mixes of ingredients. This leads to differences in quality as well as price. Before you run off to buy teak oil, however, you might want to know that the best treatment for outdoor teak furniture is NOT teak oil.

Bare Wood: If you are applying Teak Oil to bare wood for the first time, you’ll need to apply three coats. Wait until the first coat has thoroughly dried (4-6 hours) before applying the second coat of Teak Oil. Maintaining Wood with Teak Oil Top quality, grade A teak already has all the defence it needs to protect itself, without having to rely on additional products. Rust is generally a tough type of corrosion to clean from metal surfaces, and therefore must be treated with the right care so as not to damage your furniture,’ says Paul McFadyen from Metals4U. Use a piece of lint-free cloth to generously apply the oil over the surface. Make sure you wipe it with parallel strokes once you’ve let it dry. I use this oil on my solid wood outdoor furniture which is oak, not teak. I would say that it is probably designed for teak but it can be used on any wood. I think it’s good quality and I have used to for a number of years following a recommendation from a friend and it’s almost certainly the best teak oil available in the UK overall.

If there are any old residues of finish, varnish, or wax on the wood wipe it down with White Spirit to remove these. Applying Teak Oil Spray your furniture down with a light mist of water from the garden hose. Don’t use an aggressive spray setting. Keep it light and simple. Good quality oil for garden furniture forms a protective coat on the wood, ensuring your outdoor furniture to retain its colour and last longer. It also prevents wood from dying out by replacing the natural oils that have been lost to weathering.

What’s the best oil for treating teak patio furniture?

I bought this product to protect some solid wood garden furniture. Even on the first application, it transformed the furniture. The wood completely drank up the teak oil which brought out the grain in the wood. UV additives form a protective coating on the surface that keeps furniture from fading and discolouring. The Cuprinol ultimate furniture oil also contains wax to keep out moisture.
