Fourteen-year-old Georgia Nicolson lives in Eastbourne with her parents Connie and Bob and younger sister Libby. She is insecure about her appearance and fears she will never have a boyfriend. On the first day of the new school term, Georgia and her friends Jas, Ellen and Rosie spot fraternal twin brothers Robbie and Tom Jennings, who have recently moved to Eastbourne from London. Gurinder: "When Aaron [Taylor-Johnson] came in, it was a blind audition, and I really liked him. There was something about him that I thought, ‘Oh my god, this kid has it’. He was really sweet, but he didn't have the trendy sort of haircut that Robbie ended up having. He had long curly hair. Eleanor: "When filming the scene with my big spot, they created it with a glue which mattified and stayed put. It was grim. I felt so unattractive.
