About this deal

Under the Code, all staff working as parking attendants are required to carry an ID card that identifies the parking operator they are working for and show it to drivers if requested. Depending on the level of existing compliance, there could be some costs to operators involved in attaining staff ID cards. 14. Relationship with landowner This section sets out requirements in relation to consideration and grace periods for different classes of land. Annex C: Permissible parking charge and mandatory discounts You can’t use your Blue Badge everywhere - some areas have different parking schemes for disabled people. An organisational badge will have the stamp or logo of the organisation on the reverse of the badge, rather than a photograph. This side should be hidden from view when the badge is on display.

You'll receive a Parking Charge Notice if you park illegally on private land. Privately owned car parks can set their own restrictions and fines so always look for signs regarding parking restrictions. If you do not drive yourself, you should share the information in this guidance with the person who will be carrying you as a passenger. If you have a Blue Badge you can park in places other drivers can’t, for example parking spaces for Blue Badge holders. Pedestrian crossings (zebra, pelican, toucan and puffin crossings), including areas marked by zig-zag lines. The Code sets out what must happen when an appeal is rejected. Where an appeal to the parking operator is unsuccessful, the person who received the charge must have the option either to pay the parking charge or appeal to the appeals service. Parking operators are required to hold information on parking charges and appeals for three years. This will allow the new Scrutiny and Oversight Board to monitor and evaluate the Code before recommending changes in the next version of the Code. If you’re a Blue Badge carrier, you can usually park on both double and single yellow lines for up to 3 hours, providing you have your badge clearly on display. See Parking in central London below for further details. Town centres where local schemes are in operation When you get your Blue Badge, you should be given a leaflet from your council explaining how to use it. If you don’t get one, either ask or read the guidelineson GOV.UK.

A cap on the level of charges and an increase in the discount rate to 50% will directly benefit motorists through a reduction in the level of the parking charges for most breaches of the terms and conditions.

Disabled Badge Holders Only Sign
