Gemma and Alice are so relatable and I know the feeling of leaving your best friend because I've been through it before. I think that this book was really amazing as I'm a BIG fan of Jacqueline Wilson (n I actually mean it! The story ends on Gemma (and Alice's) birthday, when she celebrates with her family, Biscuits, and Biscuits' family.

Alice and Gemma were born on the same day and even with very different personalities were best of friends.During Gemma's visit to Scotland, Flora is disdainful of Gemma's childish ways and tries to get Alice to do what she wants to do. I adore the way Gemma is the toughest girl on the block and is in the school football team whereas Alice is the girl who always is voted for school council or is interested in writing and generally listens, where Gemma is more likely to be talking. She is Alice's best friend and is devastated when she learns Alice is moving to Scotland, having seen each other nearly everyday since the cradle.

The two are polar opposites; Gemma is a tomboy who likes playing wild and exciting sports, while Alice is girly and loves ballet and the color pink. I didn't really like the morals in the book - feeling like you can't move on from a friendship or have other friends, eating everything in sight to the point of throwing up because you won't politely say no, an unwillingness to share, etc. As Jacqueline's all other books, it didn't have the perfect ending of "lived happily ever after," yet it was such a happy one!

Kisah 2 sahabat, dua-duanya gadis cilik usia SD, dan salah satunya tipe "Lu yang tadi ngomongin gua di perosotan, yaa? When Alice's dad gets a new job in Scotland, Gemma is distraught and does everything she can to keep Alice for herself, scared that she'll find a new best friend in Scotland and forget all about her.
