Nidome no Yuusha is a hard one to review as it hasn’t made much progress yet and is very much being both released and translated slowly. Answer: the kind of psychopath who utterly hates his race for merely existing, enjoys the thought of murdering his friends and family, and gleefully betrays him the moment he outlives his usefulness by pinning their crimes against humanity on him. Minnalis is an expert in illusions to disguise one's self and was taught how to do so by her mother to hide her race from Fantastic Racists. Deceased Parents Are the Best: Averted with her mother, Maryse, who agreed to be sold into slavery, and took the brunt of the abuse from the slave merchant and their fellow slaves, to save her, dying as a direct result. Played straight with her father however, after he sold them both out to save his own skin.

Bullying a Dragon: He not only abused Minaris, he had all the other slaves in his storehouse abuse her too, even though beast-men like Minaris, are several times stronger than humans, to the point that if slavery magic wasn't involved, she could and would have easily killed them all, by accident, in retaliation.

Released to Elsewhere: The cover story adults tell their children is that when Millanis and her mother were stoned, beaten, and driven out, another nearby village took them in so they could "atone" or being beast-men. In reality, everyone, save Keryll, knows the two were handed over to slavers, and not expected to survive. Anger Born of Worry: She gets very mad at Kaito putting himself in danger in the end of the first novel. In the case of Leon, he considers the possibility that Leon might have some understanding of the true nature of the world that Kaito does not, and that it may very well have given him no other choice than to do what he did.
